Description: Mango Tree Restaurant, like the resort itself is tropically elegant. The al fresco dining pavilion looks out over a small river stone pool and takes in the magnificent Petit Piton and views of the Caribbean Sea. Stonefield Estate Resort features 3 exciting menus, rotated each day.Our chef and his culinary team use all fresh local market ingredients to make the freshest, most delicious St Lucian flare. All herbs and vegetables grown on property are organic and the former plantation still yields the seasonal citrus, mango and breadfruit which are incorporated into the daily menus. The Mango Tree Restaurant features a special vegan menu, as well as a children’s menu. And to stir it up true Caribbean style, The Mango Tree presents a rotating dinner theme menu featuring the popular Barbecue Thursdays, a charming Creole evening with a live local shak shak band and the best baby back ribs and jerk bake on the west coast. The Saturday Market Affair serves up the best of what has been freshly procured at the nearby Soufriere market with live entertainment from local musicians. Whether you dine under a full moon with Petit Piton cast in shadow, under the starriest of nights, or witness passing ships alight, The Mango Tree Restaurants brings diners the perfect marriage of location and gourmet Creole. The Mango Tree is open for breakfast from 7.30 am until 11:00 am and is open for lunch and dinner until 10:00 pm. Plantation House, the large signature villa on property features a full kitchen and the option for an in house chef for your stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Stonefield Villas for a week in February and ate every breakfast and almost every dinner at The Mango Tree. Eat here before dark, as the view is absolutely stunning!

For breakfast, I stuck with the delicious banana pancakes every morning while my husband fell in love with the creole omelet. Make sure to try their local fruit juices, which are fresh and delicious! They also serve complimentary bread with two local jams that we ate up every morning. We even bought some jars of the starfruit jam to take home and enjoy!

For dinner, we arrived in time to watch the sunset and it was a stunning sight. We loved the drink called Cupid's Arrow and every night features a new menu, so there is plenty of variety. Prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants. Service is slow and inconsistent, but that's just the way it is in the Caribbean. We were also confused with their reservation policy... we heard that they don't accept reservations, but one night four of the best tables were "reserved" which upset a lot of the other diners.

Overall, we were very pleased with the view, the food, and the price. Good value for the money.

My husband and I came to the Mango Tree one night when they were having a bar-b-que buffet. The restaurant was lively and the food looked good, we were seated and inquired about the pricing. We were told in was $50, exclusive of the standard 18% tax and service charge commonly added to the bill. I'm a vegetarian so I was hoping there would be a cheaper option, but the waitress informed us that there was only one price... Well, there is only so much rice and plantain I can eat at that price. I have to say we were really disappointed and left. We ended up dining at Anse Chastenet that night and don't regret the decision one bit!

I wanted to go to the Mango Tree Restaurant on our way back from our Gros Piton climb. It's located conveniently on the way from the Pitons to Soufriere. The view at this restaurant was incredible- the Pitons seemed close enough to touch and the beach with wonderful views of the placid Caribbean, ran right next to the restaurant. The prices were in USD and not very cheap- a vegetable roti was $11. They also didn't have a lot of local foods on it, but we all ordered fish and vegetable rotis. The service was slow and not very welcoming, they seemed to only have one cook in the kitchen. But it was fine as we distracted ourselves with the majestic views of what we had just climbed. When the food finally did come though, it was wonderful. They used local, fresh vegetables, fresh spices, fresh fish- it was a really fantastic array of local and fresh cuisine.
Despite the wait, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for spectacular views and a hearty, local meal.
