My wife and I were in the Soufriere area for 4 nights and on night 3 were looking to explore beyond our hotel restaurant. This place was recommended on account of the great food and service and excellent view. It turned our vacation in a really nice new direction, as it gave a great, authentic St. Lucian vibe - relaxed and friendly, which was really welcome as we were staying at the Hotel Chocolat which was very nice, but which felt a bit like it was transplanted onto the island. My wife said it reminded her of some places on Tortola in the BVI, which she loved.
We started out with sundowners on the lower area, taking in the great view of Soufriere and the Pitons, and walked around their mango tree and found a nice one that has just fallen off the tree, which we were invited to take back with us for breakfast the next day.
We then had dinner overlooking the area as the evening came on. I accepted all the suggestions our server Lorianna gave, and was very happy that I did. I had the seafood chowder to start and catch of the day (mahi-mahi) in lime ginger sauce, while my wife had Caribbean pumpkin soup (an old fave of hers she was happy to find on the menu) and seafood pasta. At this point we were stuffed but the dessert menu was very attractive, so we took a little break then took Lorianna's suggestions and enjoyed coconut creme brûlée and bounty banana (I.e. flambé). Everything was great. We probably ate more than we would have because the value was quite good, and we had a nice bottle of wine to accompany the meal.
Cab from our hotel was $20 each way - thanks Ben for being our tour guide as well as our driver. A great night out!
