My wife and I were in the Soufriere area for 4 nights and on night 3 were looking to explore beyond our hotel restaurant. This place was recommended on account of the great food and service and excellent view. It turned our vacation in a really nice new direction, as it gave a great, authentic St. Lucian vibe - relaxed and friendly, which was really welcome as we were staying at the Hotel Chocolat which was very nice, but which felt a bit like it was transplanted onto the island. My wife said it reminded her of some places on Tortola in the BVI, which she loved.

We started out with sundowners on the lower area, taking in the great view of Soufriere and the Pitons, and walked around their mango tree and found a nice one that has just fallen off the tree, which we were invited to take back with us for breakfast the next day.

We then had dinner overlooking the area as the evening came on. I accepted all the suggestions our server Lorianna gave, and was very happy that I did. I had the seafood chowder to start and catch of the day (mahi-mahi) in lime ginger sauce, while my wife had Caribbean pumpkin soup (an old fave of hers she was happy to find on the menu) and seafood pasta. At this point we were stuffed but the dessert menu was very attractive, so we took a little break then took Lorianna's suggestions and enjoyed coconut creme brûlée and bounty banana (I.e. flambé). Everything was great. We probably ate more than we would have because the value was quite good, and we had a nice bottle of wine to accompany the meal.

Cab from our hotel was $20 each way - thanks Ben for being our tour guide as well as our driver. A great night out!

We stayed at La Haut for our entire honeymoon. They were gracious enough to forward me a copy of their menu before we booked our stay. We had the all inclusive package that included all meals. Breakfast was much better than any we have had in our travels in the states. Omlets made how you want them, banana jam with whipped cream, fresh fruits and breads.

Everything is freshly made at the restaurant. Their pasta dishes were great and my husband found their catch of the day meals to be enjoyable.

They even packed us lunch of sandwich, fruit, yogurt, cake and banana for our hike of Gros Piton.

We enjoyed our stay and found the staff to be very friendly...our favorite was Alicia and Techla.

Thank Rebecca H

My wife and I were staying at La Haut and we ate dinner here 3 times; we're the type of people who stick with something good when we find it, especially when it's located 15 seconds from where we are sleeping.

We were already used to the excellent service, with most of the wait staff already knowing our names and being very helpful overall. The food really was generally excellent; I got the chicken fettuccine w/tomato sauce, and the eggplant lasagna another night; both were fantastic! The ONLY par dish we had was some sort of curry, which smelled and tasted like smoke; a very unusual, unique and a bit unpalatable flavor. BUT I think what distinguishes this from other restaurants in the area is its value; my wife and I often got 1-2 appetizers to share, ~3 drinks, 2 mains for around $60 total! The view overlooks the Pitons and the valley/bay down below. We were a bit spoiled by seeing this view every morning from our bedroom window, but it never gets old.

The food was mostly excellent, the view was stunning and the value is unbeatable. Give it a shot, you won't regret it!

Food is about $19 a plate US and it is worth $50!
Every appetizer we had was amazing, every entre was amazing.
Appetizers were $8, drinks were normally priced, not marked to the sky like other resorts.
Everything they cook is with ingredients from the 200 year old plantation that the resort sits on.
At dinner we looked down the hill and saw the staff climbing the coconut trees and getting the coconut water that they serve at breakfast. Vegetable and herb gardens right behind the kitchen.
Amazing food, we ate there 4 nights and one lunch, all breakfast was a huge variety and free to guests. $221 was the total bill!!! 5 star dining with huge portions. We could barely finish our plates every time.
And the view is soo amazing you really don't ever want to leave.

We stayed at La Haut (reviewed separately) and had dinner here twice. For the quality of the food, you can't beat the prices here - much better than other resorts in the area. Typical dinner with 2 entrees, dessert, drinks, tip well under $100 which is good for this area. The view of the Carribean, Pitons, and volcano across the valley at sunset is incredible. Chicken Calypso was my favorite meal of our week in St Lucia. Oh, and the buffet breakfast that comes with a room at La Haut is wonderful. Not was much variety as an all inclusive but much higher quality. The best banana fritters and french toast around. Incredible homemade sugar cane syrup and other fruits and juices from right off the plantation. If you visit Soufriere and don't eat here, well you missed out.
