from the moment we entered the reception area until that dreaded moment we had to leave, this resort was the perfect choice for our 25th wedding anniversary. Superb customer service, impeccably maintained grounds and the food was incredible.........one meal was even better than the next.
Hillside deluxe room is a great choice.
Two things to be aware of there are many stairs to climb and there is no swimming pool.
Also, Purchase the all inclusive three meal plan, because without it, meals are quite expensive.

Room Tip: hillside deluxe was a great choice. No air conditioning , but don't worry, you don't need...

We just spent 9 days at anse chastanet and what a great experience! The service was impeccable and the staff at the hotel were very friendly and always go the extra mile. We had a slight problem but the manager Jonathan, immediately took care of it and went out of his way to make sure the rest of our trip was perfect. We stayed in building 7 and the view was magnificent! We cant wait to go back. This is for couples only, not a family resort. Have dinner at jade mountain while there, the dinner was excellent.
We used a travel agent for this trip. Niiki at tripguy.com. She was a big help and got us a great deal.

Room Tip: Hillside has great views, lots of walking but worth it. Room 15a is very nice but near kitchen so i...

We went to Anse Chastanet for our daughter's wedding and it was one of the most spectacular places we have ever visited. The staff are so friendly and efficient and the food is of a very high standard. We did several options such as guided walks through the forests and whale watching. You can also just relax on the beach!
The deluxe and premium rooms have amazing views over the Pitons and sea. It is best to go all inclusive as this will work out cheaper than paying separately for meals and drinks.
It was a week in paradise, with so many beautiful birds and flowers to go with the stunning views.

When we arrived we were a little disappointed to find our 'beachfront' room was neither directly on the beach nor did it have a sea view. It was on a beautiful garden at the same level as the beach though, so maybe 'beach-level' would have been more honest of the resort...

Anyway, the resort is lovely, loads of wildlife, great food and drink choices and quality.

Lots of steps as people mentioned, but this does give the views people love.

Nearby dive centre I had bad experiences with the equipment quality - bring your own gear or avoid them. This was a shame as the reef is stunning.

Wi-fi was limited to reception annoyingly- for this money would it kill to install a booster or two? And why do I have to sign for every single drink when I am all inclusive?

Great activities, two beaches and a nature forest area mean you don't feel hemmed in.

The resort is best for couples, singles may find the nightlife too quiet.

Staff we're also very helpful and friendly. I would definitely return to Anse Chasternet.

Our flight from London was slowed by headwinds so that it was dusk when we arrived. We had booked a Beach Luxury room. Now, we expected it to face the sea but the row of three four-room blocks is built at right angles to the beach. Even though we were at the end nearest the beach, we only had a glimpse of it. But in the morning there were crested humming birds, bananaquits and Antillean bullfinches to entertain us as we enjoyed the excellent locally produced coffee. The room would count as a Junior Suite in US parlance. Spacious, clean and Moulton Brown toiletries: lighting crap! take your iPad or Kindle. WiFI works in the room

The hotel has no pool but we decided that the sea swimming there was THE BEST IN THE WORLD. We don't say that lightly. We are in our eighth decade and well travelled. The sea was clear every day except one when a North-east wind stirred up the sand. On the south side, there is a well known snorkelling area which can get a bit busy some days when other resorts bring their guests. No matter, there is good and quite different snorkelling off the North end of the beach. The vegetation and fish life of the latter is quite different. The sea is about 28 Degrees (82F) all the year and with the wind generally coming from the mountains, the waves are gentle. There is a second beach Anse Marin, separated from the main beach by 400 yards of roadway or you can take the boat shuttle. There are almost no trippers there, apart from a few locals. There is a beach bar with good grilled fish and burgers

The Hotel food is good and (too) plentiful with distinct creole flavours. I have not eaten a hamburger for forty years but had one at the Anse Marin beach; EXCELLENT!!

Should you go EP (empty plate) or MAP (breakfast and Dinner)? I think that there is also a full board plan. We don't eat breakfast, Three cups of coffee and a fruit punch mid-morning is fine for us. So one plate at lunch and one main course, occasionally a second shared at dinner was plenty for us. If you want breakfast and a four course dinner, go MAP. We managed not to gain weight on the trip.

There are several walking excursions with Meno. A man of great charm and enthousiasm. The most interesting were the Plantation, Bird watching and Soufriére town. The waterfall in not special. The other walks need very good shoes and you need to be pretty fit and active.

Room Tip: Well, we only have experience of the beach rooms, If you go for them, get a ground floor, we had 9c...

My husband and I visited Anse Chastanet the week of March 31st for a week and stayed in 2A, one of the original bungalows. The room was perfectly decorated with a private wrap around porch, overlooking the ocean and the pitons. Our room had fresh flowers upon arrival and was quite private even though there were other bungalows nearby. The bungalows sit amongst lots of trees so they seem very private.

The beach was superb with lots of cabanas and the beach service was excellent. We enjoyed the snorkeling right off the beach and the walk to the other beach that is owned by the hotel called Anse Mamin. The walking/biking trails and old plantation was also incredible.

The food was expensive but very good. We had a rental car and thought it may be less expensive to eat at other resorts or local restaurants. While it was slightly less expensive, the convenience of eating on property was worth it.

We didn't do any excursions through the hotel and took advantage of the rental car to go on our own to attractions. This was a lot less expensive than booking through the hotel. However, we did have some slightly annoying interactions with locals who seemed to be constantly haggling us when we were out on our own. After a couple days we learned how to politely but directly say no thank you and maybe we looked a little more seasoned after we lost our pale New York pastiness from a long cold winter!

We really loved this resort and although we usually like to go to new places to vacation, I would seriously coming back the Anse Chastanet. It was a resort set in a natural setting with open air dining, birds everywhere, and in one of the most striking Resorts I've ever been to.

This was a return visit to AC having stayed previously in 2008. We vowed to return then and there was really no other honeymoon destination choice! We found the same warmth and charm of this unique property but felt huge improvements across all areas particularly in the restaurants. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and would highly recommend the package if like us you enjoy staying on resort. Our room (hillside deluxe) was perfect and not too far up the hill from reception and the Treehouse bar/restaurant. We found the subtle enhancements made from our first visit welcoming that included all four restaurants open, new beach loungers, paddleboards and service style. The beach service was amazing, just place your yellow flag outside your cabana, perfection!! Be sure to give the guys/girls a couple of bucks, they truly deserve it. We were lucky enough to have three specials meals cooked personally for us in the Apsara restaurant by their new Sous Chef. He is huge talent and responsible for my strict diet when we returned home! Snorkelling on AC reef was amazing; there are two different areas, one to left (a deeper area which is part of the marine reserve) and another area to the right that stretches from the jetty to beach at Anse Mamin. Both had outstanding visibility saw turtles on many swims. We also snorkelled the Superman’s Flight at the base of the Pitons, it was good (very dramatic) and we felt the AC reef had the best of both worlds and didn’t bother booking anymore snorkel trips. I had the privilege to release a recently hatched turtle into the ocean; this moment will stay with me forever. For balance I have to mention a few areas for improvement; the checkout process needs overhauling and found us frustrated during the last 2 hours of an amazing 12-day stay. The staff in the spa was unwelcoming and I didn’t return to book any treatments after my initial enquiries, which was disappointing. Please, please bring back Chairman’s Reserve to the in-room all-inclusive menu, watching the sunset on the veranda with a Bounty and coke isn't simply the same!!

Room Tip: Don't bother with beach A/C rooms, you get lovely breezes up the hill.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Tranquility, Romance, Adventure: What were Caribbean hotels like when you sat watching the sunset instead of cable TV? You can still find that Classic Caribbean at Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia’s quiet southwestern coast where two magical peaks, the Pitons, leap from the sea and the mountains are covered with luminous greenery.Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy believes passionately in nature. So he created a hotel that makes the foliage and the flowers, the perfumes and the peaks, the sea and the bird song an integral part of your vacation experience. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. The resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. With such a unique setting as his canvas, Nick Troubetzkoy was inspired to design a one -of-a-kind resort. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tip toe up a flower decked hillside, taking advantage of the captivating scenery all around. Anse Chastanet’s ever growing art collection provides a visual feast of its own. There are impressive wooden sculptures and plaques, earthy burlap compositions, painted “sky ceilings” and vibrant acrylic paintings invoking memories of Matisse and Picasso. And while the sensuous seclusion of the rooms provides some guests with the perfect excuse for lolling away the day on the balcony, others head out to partake in the many activities on offer; yoga, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, sunset sailing, sea kayaking or jungle biking, hiking and bird-watching among the ruins of an 18th century colonial plantation. ... more   less
