“Good time, good food, great drinks”
Reviewed 31 December 2013

We did not stay at the hotel, but did make the journey into town for lunch christmas eve before the big storm hit. The food was very good, prices were excellent and the mixed drinks were the best we found on the island.
After the big storm we made it back with the help of a taxi- we could not get our rental car over a washed out bridge near our villa..
We had a great time at the bar, staff was warm and welcoming with a great sense of humor. Hope to come back soon to do it all over again. Without the large storm.

“Great food, great atmosphere”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

We dined there for two nights but frequented the bar for awesome cocktails even more often (we were staying at the Hummingbird Beach Resort). The service was slow but the food was really good and I enjoyed the seafood a lot.
However, the vegetarian in our group of friends wasn't pleased (but this happened quite a few times in St Lucia that vegetarian food just wasn't anything special).

Definitely try the cocktails in the bar. You don't get the usual laundry list of mojitos or long island iced teas but unique cocktails.

we enjoyed the setting of the restaurant: it faces one of the pitons. the food was good as well. we stayed in the honeymoon suite and enjoyed the view from there. we did not like the service overly much but they tried to be very accommodating.

“Great food, lovely setting but 2 very different levels of service...”
Reviewed 26 December 2013 via mobile

The restaurant has a great location and views of Soufriere bay and le Petit Piton. Its comfortable, quaint, clean and relaxing. The food was very good and reasonablycouple tablecomparison to other restaurants with this quality of food in St. Lucia).
The first time we went for lunch we were greeted and served by a very amiable and professional young man, I believe his name is Marwithout being overbearing and we could tell he is very dedicated to his work and takes pride in doing a great job. Indeed it was the combination of the tasty food and his excellent service that brought us back for dinner a night or two later.
Unfortunately our dinner did not go as well. Once we walked in for dinner no one really greeted us. We sat ourselves at a table and noticed there was only one other couple in the restaurant. A lady was taking thier drink and food order. The same lady then went over to a table and started writing in a little order book. She then said hello to us, then disappeared for a few of minutes and then finally came back to take our order. We ordered 2 mains and some garlic bread to start. The lady server then disappeared for a bit. After 25 minutes complimentarycouple still had not received thier drinks, so they asked the lady server when they could expect them. The lady tried to blame it on the bartender, saying she had put the order in with him. But we had been watching the whole thing and could see this was a lie. She then went to the bar and started to make the drinks (which also took forever). So they waited over 30 minutes for drinks in an almost empty restaurant! Then they started asking about the food...meanwhile we had not received drinks or our garlic bread after 40 minutes! Finally the garlic bread came. Just after the garic bread was served the server then brought out the complimentary bread and butter that should have been served while we waited for our orders. After another 20 minutes we still did not have our mains so we were about to leave without eating. By this time the other table had escalated thier complaints to the (somewhat apathetic) bartender who came over to smooth things over with them. We caught the bartender and my husband asked if the food had to come from the other side of the island...our food was brought out a couple of minutes later. (The food was good.)
Now I'm used to island time and my husband is originally from the Caribbean so we know not to expect speedy service. HOWEVER what we witnesses that night was pure confusion and incompetent service. With food this good and such a nice setting and ambience it is a genuine shame that the restaurant is left in the hands of such hopeless people.
I would still recommend the restaurant but I really hope that the owners take our advice and ditch the evening crew or at least put someone like Marvin in charge to make sure the Hummingbird makes the most of its potential!

“Best Seafood I've Ever Had”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

This is by far the best place to get seafood in Soufriere. Nestled on the Soufriere Bay , makes this restaurant even more special. Prices are reasonable but most of all the food is great !!!!
