“Great fun with Joy!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

This was one of the most fun excursions we have taken in the Caribbean! From the bat cave to the snorkeling between the Pitons, it was all good fun. The mud bath and mineral springs were so soothing, as was the warm waterfall afterwards. The lunch on the beach was fabulous! The crew was very funny and entertaining. It was a great way to experience the culture and beauty of the island, and have fun at the same time! One of the best things to do in St. Lucia!!

“Spectacular day!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at the St. James Club in St. Lucia and Joy's cruise was amazing. Everything about it was exactly as described. We left the beach around 8:45 in a fabulous boat and coasted the Caribbean side of the island. Learned so much history and viewed beautiful sights. The Pitons are breathtaking and the snorkeling at Sugar beach was fantastic. The mud baths and waterfall are a unique experience and the barbeque on the beach prepared by Joy's daughter is fabulous. The rum punch and Piton beer were a great way to end the cruise back to the resort. Thank you captain Phil and tour guide Von ( Joy's son ) for an unforgettable day. Be sure to bring your camera! Thank you Joy and a big howdy from Texas from Steve and Susan!

“You'll find Joy under the fig tree”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

Joy is a low key guy hanging out near the water sports center on the beach at St. James Club Morgan Bay. The hand painted poster depicts everything you'll see and it is totally worth it. Had a great time with Capt. "Jack Sparrow" at the helm and his great crew. We did it our second day of the vacation and what a great way to see most of the Caribbean coast with fun humorous guides. The home cooked lunch on the beach was a treat. There are lots of honeymooners in St. Lucia and the couple on our boat got a cake specially made by Joy's family! The snorkeling was great as were the mud bath and cleansing waterfall afterwards. The rum punch and Piton beer on the way back was only topped by the bottle of champagne offered to the newly weds while some of us jumped ship to swim through the "love hole" a natural rock bridge where some locals happened to be cliff diving. Back at the resort my wife and I enjoyed Joy's and JJ's (yes- Joy Jr.) company so much we parked ourselves daily in the chaises near them and my wife helped promote the tours. Thanks guys - we hope to return some day!

“Joy's Cruise - best bang for your dollar!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

If you want to have a great adventure when you are in St. Lucia you definitely have to go on Joy's Cruise! We had the best time ever! You start off around 9:00am by having the boats (3 in all) pull up to your resort (St. James Club, Morgan Bay) and then you all load up. From the resort you go past lots of small fishing villages (roughly 7,500-10,000 people per village), where your guides will stop from time to time to give you some historical information about the various island places, before you get to Soufriere...where you disembark and load into vans that take you to the only drive in volcano!! Man, what a stink from the the sulfur...but it will get rid of any headache you might have had when you arrived there...once at the volcano you head down to the sulfur mineral bath where you soak in 102 degree water (just like a hot tub except really good for you) for a few moments before you put on the lava mud - all over your body - and then you rinse off once more in the mineral bath (don't forget to take some pics before you rinse though because you will look hilarious)...and you definitely won't be able to get all the mud off until you get to the Diamond Waterfall. Enjoy this mud bath because it goes by faster than what you think...your skin will never feel so soft again and it actually glows at night (LOL)! After the mud bath you go to the Waterfall and spend some time there relaxing in the tropical warm water that cascades down on top of you. You have a bit of a hike through the areas, but it is so worth it...

From the waterfall you load back up in the boats and go for a fantastic fresh made lunch on a private beach owned by Joy's family. The food is fabulous, from root vegetables (like yams and bread fruit) to bbq chicken/yellow fin tuna to rice/potatoes and then its topped off with a great home made dessert (done by Joy's daughter). You get to spend a short time enjoying the water and beach area here before you are taken to Sugar Beach for some fantastic snorkelling...btw this beach had the sand imported because they don't have white sand in St. Lucia...one of the fun facts that your guide will tell you...

Once you leave here it is party time...you get drinks (alcoholic and regular pop/water) and another stop at the 'kissing tunnel' for a few minutes and our boat had an extra swim just off from the tunnel...the water was crystal clear...warm and beautiful...

There were other smaller things we did, but just an FYI for those who need to know:

The cost is $100US per adult (and they prefer cash if you have it)
Bring water shoes or running shoes if you prefer
Bring a towel from the hotel with you
Bring money if you want to buy things at Sugar Beach, but you might find the prices to be very expensive
Make sure you have sunblock as the sun is hot!
Underwater camera and a regular camera too
Hats for your head
Water if you have it...although they will give you a bottle of water once you reach Soufriere

All-in-all this is one of the best things you can do while in St. Lucia...
