“Exceeded our greatest expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 November 2013

Crystals was like no place we've ever stayed before, in the best way possible. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there and had the greatest time. Monica, Martin, and Jessica bent over backwards to ensure we enjoyed our stay, and we surely did. We stayed in the Papaya room and the view was absolutely unbelivable. We enjoyed sitting out on our back deck reading every morning before the delicious homemade breakfast was delivered. The food was outstanding, and Monica even prepared chicken we bought at the market for us because we forgot to get seasoning. (It was delicious!) Overrall we enjoyed the experience so much, the service was outstanding and we would definitely reccommend.

Room Tip: Go to the happy hours! Monica and Martin are so nice and funny, plus the rum punch is very tasty...

Spent a week with my newly wed hubby at crystals. It was truly a vacation one can only dream about , the up close breathtaking views of the sunset and Pitons. The comfort of your own private pools and soft warm beds . The sound of nature such as birds chipping .ahhh just unexplainable. Very classy and romantic , with mind blowing architecture and design . Ps. Monica and Martin are truly gifted each piece of furniture tells a story . Breakfast is amazing ! Coconut pancakes..... yummmyyy! Jessica is the sweetest person You'll ever meet , she offered us a tour of soufriere which was by far the best tour as she points out where everything is, from the hot springs to the rAinforests, private isolated beaches and the best restaurants ...she even helped us with the driving permit ...
If you're looking for romance, privacy, great food, great pricing , and an unforgettable honeymoon/vacation then crystals is definitely for you !

Room Tip: The sugarcane pool faces the Pitons...however the silver palm looks like a real beaUty

Had a second short break at Crystals and one thing I can honestly say is that i experienced real peace. For someone who lives the life of BUSY, to truly feel at peace is amazing. The setting is always breathtaking and makes you appreciate natural beauty. Mango villa was spacious and the upstairs room was beautiful. Monica and Martin as always made us feel so welcomed and we had a lovely time having cocktails, with a bit of singing and dancing thrown in. I think for anyone visiting ST Lucia spending even a couple nights at Crystals will make your holiday and give you a chance to enjoy a different part of the island.
We look forward to a 3rd visit and seeing the fabulous new villa that is going to be ready. Now thats going to be a stunner.

Room Tip: We stayed in Papaya (i think) last time and I loved the outside space and the view is totally specta...

It's been a while since my husband and I were at Crystals (2007 and 2009), but every time I think of a "happy place" I think of Crystals. We went for our honeymoon in 2007 and stayed in Sugarcane cottage. It was beautiful and we had an amazing time. Such an amazing time, we returned in 2009 and stayed in Calabash cottage. We really enjoyed all of the nearby restaurants and getting to have some food around the cottage to cook when we didn't feel like going out. We went on the rainforest walk and LOVED it. We also went on a day sail that was amazing. The first time we went, we just drove around the island explored the rain forest. I can't think of anything bad to say at all. The treetop bar is awesome, Monica and Martin are great, and the peace at night is just amazing. We can't wait to return (but we just had quadruplets- so we will probably have to wait a few years)! It is an amazing place run by amazing people. WE LOVE CRYSTALS!

This was our 3rd visit to St Lucia (and to Crystals). The first time we spent the first portion of our stay up in Choc Bay and finished up at Crystals. We enjoyed our time up north (as Choc Bay area gave us a good point between Castries and Rodney Bay). However, the second two times we just stayed the whole time at Crystals and in the Soufriere area. Rodney Bay area is fine, but living in South Florida, there is plenty of night life and "action" to partake of on a regular basis. One of our main reasons to go to St Lucia is to "slow it down a bit" and enjoy the beauty of what this part of the world has to offer.

On this trip we were fortunate enough to have two of our dear friends join us. It was wonderful to have them also have the opportunity to experience the beauty of St Lucia (and the warmth and friendliness of Monica, Martin, Jessica, and the rest of the Crystals "team").

We had a lovely dinner the first night we arrived. Monica prepared an awesome meal and afterwards we sat around with some friends and other guests enjoying Martin's music and Rum Punch (Rocket Fuel).

The next day we had a driver that Monica introduced us to (Stanis) take us to a variety of places. I'll post more on Stanis and the other places we visited. Suffice to say we were glad Monica introduced us to Stanis. I had planned the whole itinerary and Stanis was our happy, pleasant and informative guide/driver.

On the way to Crystals we had stopped in Choisel and bought some fresh tuna and lobsters from a local fisherman. Saturday Monica and Martin were nice enough to accept our invitation to join us for dinner. For the second night in a row a wonderful meal was followed up with good music, drinks, and conversation.

Sunday was the sailboat and snorkeling trip that Monica set us up with. We had been on this trip on our previous visit to Crystals (and we were happy that we were able to have our friends from Florida experience it as well).

I've read in some other reviews from time to time the reviewer will mention that Crystals is "not for everyone". (In fact, I think I may have used that line previously as well) I do think that is worth mentioning again. Crystals is an incredible collection of individual cottages in a breathtaking setting. Every cottage is decorated differently, eclectically, and beautifully. They each have a private plunge pool and wonderful views of the Pitons. So..... why isn't it for everyone? That is because if you are the type of person who is looking for a Hilton or Hyatt, etc., this might not be your "cup of tea". Crystals can basically be whatever you want it to be. By that I mean if you want to just stay to yourself (and your beautiful cottage) you can do so. If you want to come up to the treehouse bar and join in on the interaction and fun with Monica, Martin, and other guests, then you can do that. If there is anything you need or any questions you need answered, Monica, Martin, or any of the other helpful staff will be happy to give you what you need. I have seen reviews where people complain about the rough road up to Crystals. I think that road up to Crystals is rather amusing (adventurous??) and that making your way up that road provides the first of many stories that can be told and the charm of Crystals. I've seen reviews complaining about "bugs". Hey...... YOU'RE ON THE EDGE OF THE RAIN FOREST!! Figure it out!!

CONCLUSION: If you are looking to stay somewhere where it will be a unique experience, meet wonderful people (staff and guests), and have pictures and stories that will last a lifetime.... then Crystals is for you.

If you are worried about an occasional bug, or a couple of leafs in your plunge pool, or if you need to be waited over hand and foot every minute of the day.... Crystals might not be for you.

For my wife and I (and now the two friends we brought this time), we loved every minute and can't wait for the fourth trip to come!!

P.S. We just got back home last night. Photo's will be downloaded and posted later!!

Room Tip: They are all wonderful (but Papaya has the largest deck and best views)..... Calabash would be my se...

A very peaceful setting. Accommodation is very comfortable and feels like everything has had so much effort put in to create a homely and personal touch. Monica and Martin are lovely hosts nothing is too much trouble. Breakfasts are amazing and brought to your cottage at a time that suits you. The views are stunning with fantastic photographic opportunities. Another great experience is having drinks and a meal in the treetop restaurant and bar. if you are looking for a holiday thats extra special with a wow then this is the place for you to relax. Can't wait to be able to go back one day.

crystals is not the garden of eden built to perfection, I am rather disturb that people will give this place bad reviews infact I am baffled. everthing is there on the website prior to booking, so for some attention seekers to trash crystals its not fair, yes a few bugs linger in the cottages as with all the others hidden around saint lucia, if you a fan of storage wars then this antique paradise is for you, curtained with pine and oak wood among others crystals never displayed a dull moment, the world iconic pitons stand majestically in the distance of each cottage, however dont take my word for it, dont take bad reviews either visit for your self or spend your thousands at sandals and landings.
