From the minute we arrived at the airport until the minute we left there was not one minute of disappointment. We did not think the ride by car to the airport was so terrible, I was worried about that after reading other reviews. Yes it is a little bumpy for the final 20 minutes up to the hotel road (not paved well) but our driver (sent by the hotel) drove very well and he was very informative about the island, and even stopped along the way for us to take pictures. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the car with a special drink, a cool towel, and we felt so welcomed. We were taken directly to our room (no check-in required at that time). Our room JB3, was magnificient. Honestly, we never wanted to leave our room. The view by day of the Pitons was breathtaking. The pool was very nice to look at, however, it was too cold to get into. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary, and had a special dinner in our room which was one of the most romatic evenings of our life! The staff made sure everything was perfect for us, from the candles, flowers, service, ect. Service could not have been better. The hotel was expensive, but worth every penny!!!!!!

My husband and I stayed at Jade Mountain in January 2007. We arrived late into Hewanorra Airport. We must have been the last people to arrive that day because the airport was empty. Needless to say, going through customs was non-existent. We boarded a mini-bus that was waiting for us for Anse Chastanet - Jade Mountain.

When we made our reservation we decided to stay in a Sun room. There are "Star", "Moon", "Sun", and "Sky" sanctuaries (that's what they call the rooms) to choose from. Each one is decorated differently and offers real outdoor luxury. No phone, no television. Internet at the lobby.

The trip from the airport was tedious due to the curvy and rustic roads. If you arrive late at night, you will swear you are being taken into the jungle an dropped off. After passing through a well guarded gate, we finally made it to Jade Mountain.

We were escorted to our room after check-in. We walked to the fifth level of the resort. We proceeded down a long suspended concrete bridge to the room. When the door opened we were blown away. Even at night we could see the beauty of the furnishings, exotic flooring and glass tiles. And just as promised there was an infinity pool right in the room.

Our luggage arrived and we settled in. The thing you must get used to first is that there are only three sides to the room. The fourth side is open to the elements. Incredible open-air concept! We did have a mosquito net over the bed to protect us at night. We had 9 ceiling fans above us rotating at all times to circulate the tropical breeze. There are also louvers on the windows on the opposite side of the room to let air flow. And don't worry about privacy. And you are up so high that no one will ever know you're there. We never knew another soul was around while in our room. The bathroom is out of this world...includes open shower and tub with chromotherapy. The infinity pool also has colored lighting for night....very romantic.

We woke the next morning to the most beautiful site. The Pitons were right there in front of us....WOW!

We enjoyed the entire week. Ate at both Piti Piton and Treehouse Restaurant (very delicious food) and ordered room service often because we just didn't want to leave our "sanctuary". You hang a little pouch on the door with your order and service people come by about every 15 minutes to check.

We frequented Club Jade Mountain on the next to top level in the evenings to enjoy a glass of wine or a snack. The very top level is an excellent place to enjoy the sunset. Lots of comfy outdoor furniture to sit on and just enjoy life. There is also a hole cut into the center of the top level so you can peer down to the community infinity pool inside Club Jade Mountain....sounds amazing, doesn't it...it is!

There are shuttles that run from Jade Mountain down to the beach and back because it is somewhat of a trek. Great beachside dining at Trou au Diable. Awesome!! Water taxis will take you to Castries for shopping and siteseeing.

You have the option of taking a helicopter from the resort back to the airport....great way to see some secluded parts of the island. The resort has a landing area onsite.

We plan to return soon because when we were there the fountains were not yet finished, but we could tell that upon completion the entire place was going to be breathtaking.

My husband an I went there for Valentine's day (and a few more). The rooms are like nothing you've ever seen. Exterior wall completely open to the outside, but wonderful! Didn't matter if it rained, there's a huge overhang that keeps the rain from getting in the room. Never seen so many rainbows in my life!! No clocks, radios or tv's. I understand the premise behind that, supposed to have total relaxation, but we didn't like not having any of those things.

Jade Mountain is part of Anse Chastnet Resort, which is where the beach and a couple of the restaurants are. It's basically all the same place, but people staying at Anse Chastnet can't go up the mountain to the Jade part of the resort.

The Jade rooms are quite a bit of a walk to the beach, since they're up on top of a hill side. Your calves will get a good work out while you're there. You can call for a ride down, but with the rate at which things move on that island, we never bothered calling for a ride down.

The tours, hikes, biking & snorkling were all fun and I would highly recommend them. Especially hiking up the smaller of the Piton's. Even though its the smaller one, its not a hike for the light hearted, its a bit of a challenge. Well worth it if you like to hike though.

We aren't divers, but we heard from others that it's a great resort for divers.

We weren't impressed with the food. It was okay/good, but nothing to rave about, especially for the price to stay there (all inclusive). The spa was okay, but nothing exceptional.

The rooms themselves are worth a trip just to experience them, but they were pretty much the highlight of the actual resort.

We have been to some pretty exclusive locations but I would put Jade Mountain at the Top of the list! Needless to say- one of a kind- not only with the location, but the design, the rooms, the service, the people, and the atmosphere. Veto and Tuclas our "Duomos" were spectacular and catered to our every whim.
Our "Sanctuary" was breathtaking! We were a bit nervous about being there for 6 days without any outside distractions (i.e. Cell phone, TV) but that quickly subsided.
The food was a culinary experience- there were 3 locations to have the meals, each with their own identity and then there is always room service!
The beach is very private and secluded, yet social if that is what you are looking for.
There are however, MANY steps! Yet, the resorts offer shuttles at your request with not much of a wait at all.
One word of advice though, if you easily get car sick- consider taking the helicopter ride in. The ride ito and from the resort is actually quite exciting, but for the weak of stomach you may want to take a Dramamine.
We will definitely be back only next time longer!

We just come back from the Jade Mountain resort. The location is truly amazing and the view probably one of the best in the world. On a positive side, the rooms are beautiful and the people very nice.
But the price is not justified:
1: the service is very slow, there are not enough staff. It feels that the hotel is not properly finished. The road to the hotel (approx 10m by car is not done at all!)
2: the hotel below (wich is a much lower quality and price) share the same beach facility . The location is nice but the sunbeds are broken and old, and the service really poor.
3: the hotel rooms are nice but the butler service very poor

Finally, i will discourage any none fit person or pregnant lady to go there! They are no elevators and the restaurant is on top of more than 300 stairs!

It could be an amazing hotel but they have to work on the service to justify their price!

My wife and I stayed recently stayed at Jade Mountain for 9 nights in December 08. We stayed in a Star Infinity Suite. Upon our return to the United Kingdom I felt compelled to write some comments on our stay. This is not just a resort for people with deep pockets and would recommend it for special occasions and a romantic getaway.

1. Flight: Flew from Gatwick with Virgin on Premier Economy. Although 3 hours late taking off. Premium Economy is a great way to get to St Lucia which we found stress free over economy. Found it best to upgrade to this via travel agent as there was a better deal available rather than going to Virgin direct (which did dissapoint me).

2. Journey to hotel: About 1 hour along twisty roads that do make you wonder where you are heading. Particularly the last 15 minutes. Do not be put off by any negative comments about this journey Particularly if you have ever taken a taxi in Greece, Italy, Spain or the Africa's. The drivers are friendly and do pay attention to the road.

3. Accomodation: All suites are breathtaking. Heard a lot about the need to stay in sun and moon suites but this should not be the deciding factor in staying here as the other suites are all excellent.

4. Staff: Fantastic... no negatives all happy to help no matter what.

5. Location: Simply excellent. Anste Chastenet beach is a 5 minute walk downhill (and 10 minutes up). Should take care when walking this - as it is steep in places.

6. Beech: Not crowded and excellent service from attendants and staff. Mark the beach manager is worth talking to about local conditions and amenities.

7. Swimming: Quite strong current in places. That said, good safe swimming and can use snorkel gear, lifejacket etc.. if you feel the need.

8. Restuarants: All excellent. Especially Aspara and Jade Mountain Club. Tip.. Take breakfeast at the beech restuarant and watch the world go by as well as having breakfeast in your room.

9. Value for money: Things do not have to be expensive (other than getting there and finding a room). Lunches and dinners could be had for c:38 US dollars a couple.

10. Outside resort: Plenty to do, would recommend some tours whilst there. We went on whale watching tour (Only whale i saw was myself in the infinity pool later in the afternoon). Unlikely to get real value with this if more than 2 persons going. Fish Fry on Friday nights in village does give you the local feel about St Lucia ans would recommend this for adults.

11. Other: Worth meeting your local management team who do have a lot of experience globally and they do put the customer 1st. Back in the office now and thinking of when we could plan to go again, pay the mortgage and keep the kids happy. Life can be great.

i stayed here with my family for ten days last december and can honestly say it has the most stunning place i have ever experienced. The true genius of this hotel is that the back wall of your room is completely open, giving you a full panoramic view of the scenery while still maintaining your privacy. we were on the top floor and had a private walkway to our rooms with made it even more special. and our private infinity pool was much bigger than i would have expected and the perfect place to enjoy a cool drink in the sun. the rest of our experience in st lucia was also excellent-staff were more than willing to help in any way, the restaurants were lovely and the live music in the evening was a nice touch. if there is one thing i enjoyed more than the unbelievable view it was the tours around the island where our driver stopped occationaly to show us local pants (like coffee beans, cinnamon, nutmeg etc) he didn't have to do this and was not getting paid but it was fascinating and definitely another highlight in our trip! oh and they also do the best bacon i've ever tasted so make sure to order it for breakfast! :)
