“Beautiful Beach - nice room with a great view - friendly accomodating staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

We had a great time - The beach is absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is small but OK. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food at the cafe was good although there are many other restaurants a short drive from the hotel. Recommend renting a car - walking is not very easy with the narrow road. The only minor problem was some very small ants on the counter - we checked with the staff and they gave us some spray and over the course of the week the problem receded. The next time I go to St. Maarten I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room above the 1st floor - 2nd or above - there are trees that will block the beautiful...

We stayed at Belair Beach Hotel, enjoyed our 1-week visit and loved the location with beautiful turquoise waters lapping soft waves on the beach. Our 2-bedroom unit had a king bed and a double bed--each with their own bathroom. Even though the kitchen was efficiently small, it had a full size refrigerator, 2-burner stove top, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven. Maid service came in the middle of the week with clean towels and cleaned the unit. The sounds of the waves can be heard inside the resort's units--all with a great beach view. Beach chairs are reserved for the week. The hotel is not a new facility but has had upgrades and is clean. Phillipsburg was a 20-minute walk the local cruise port with lots of shops and many jewelry stores. Taxis are the only mode of transportation if you don't rent a car (Airport to hotel - $15USD, Hotel to Marigot $20--one way). The staff were helpful and friendly. Gingerbread Cafe had good food and Divi next door had a wonderful continental breakfast at Toucans. Local restaurants highly recommended is Chesterfields in Phillipsburg and Enochs (between 12 noon and 1pm for good specials) in Marigot. The US dollar is accepted everywhere we visited. The Belair Hotel is a quiet location and does not have a loud party scene such as is found in Simpson Bay.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor and experienced a good view, slightly blocked with a swaying palm tree...

We stayed at Belair Beach Hotel and loved it. Fantastic Beach and Water. The staff and service was wonderful and we really enjoyed the food at the café. Great place to enjoy a quiet time but also the special entertainment nights as well.

Room Tip: 2nd Floor or Higher to have a great view. All rooms face the beach and water and have balconies.

We Have een Going To St.Maarten since the Late 1980's Being an Owner At The Belair Last Year I gave a Great Review to The Belair and again This Year it was even Better Than Ever, It seems to us That with Time The Belair is out doing itself to make every Experience a memorable one , With all of The Ammenities that Belair has to offer Coupled with the Feeling Of Being at Home and the Ocean View From Every Room Makes Belair a Real Jewel in Our Eyesv, a Plus is Being that Belair has endured all the Worst Storms and survived them makes me Proud Our Investment is secure, To all Of The Staff at Belair I commend you for a Job well done.

We have stayed at Belair Beach Hotel for 5 of the last 6 years. We have fallen in love with the place and its' people ...and will continue to come back. All rooms face the water and a great little beach, it is close to everything from Simpson Beach to Philipsburgh and is an easy drive around to the French side. Also, Gingerbreads bar and grill is right on the property and the food and service are very good. While there are more exotic locations on the island, you cannot beat the overall value and genuine friendship of Belair Beach Hotel. O yes, the rooms are nice too!

Room Tip: They are all good ... just get one.

Just a couple of comments. First a microwave and a toaster oven does not a full kitchen make.
My children love to play tennis, this is one of the reasons we chose this resort, After we arrived we inquired about the tennis court and the girl at the desk told us where they were. We walked to them, it was in disrepair and had not net. We went back to the desk, and the clerk told us " we said we had one, we didn't say it was operational".

Now the positives. The Belair Beach resort while old and in need of some updates probably has the best beach and views on the island.

It was like coming home. This is my eighth year straight at the Belair Beach Hotel and I still luv being there. It was wonderful seeing all the folks I have come to know over the years Jody, Buelah, Paulina, Dorette, Patsy, and Vincent etc. as well as the gentleman that cooks the best barbeque ever on the grill at the Monday night barbeque. I enjoyed my entire stay at the Belair Beach Hotel which is just what was needed after the dreadful winter we had here in New York. It was also a plus seeing guests we have met over the years. Laid back, quiet, great weather, nice clean accomondations, FANTASTIC view, great beach, friendly faces. In one word EXCELLENT

Room Tip: Third or fourth floor in the middle. All are ocean view.
