The resort is nice with lots of pools and hot tubs. But the hot tubs are rarely operational and maintenance in general is poor. We had major leaks in our unit during extended rain and this was addressed by laying down several pool towels. Unit amenities are good. Pool towel hut was closed for 3 days during extended rain storm. We only dined at the resort once and the food was good - just very little selection. Lisa at front desk was good. Grounds staff were lazy. Housekeepers were friendly and did a good job. During the storm most activities were cancelled - this seems the opposite approach to making the best of a bad situation.
A rental car is a good idea as there is no public transit.

IF you are travelling with children do NOT come here. THe resort has no activities for children, no play ground, the kids club was closed. It pretty much rained the whole time we were here and we were bored out of our minds as there was nothing to do. IF you do come to stay here make sure you request the renovated apt, as the un renovated rooms are disguisting with wholes in sheets, dirty bathrooms kitchens, and floors. Horrible... staff and service was also very slow, and it seemed like they did not want to be here. Please dont stay in this resort, also Philisburg was not a pretty town, did not feel safe walking around there. All in all trip was not worth it and resort was very child unfriendly.

We spent our anniversary in a timeshare 1-bedroom unit in building 3 overlooking Great Bay and Phillipsburg. We had ocean-view 1st floor by request. I had no idea that we would be overlooking a rock retaining wall and not sandy beach but we still had great views of the cruise ships and Bay. We had NO DISHWASHER or washer/dryer which was appalling. And we needed key items like spatulas, corkscrews, clock radio, baking sheet which took 4 days and multiple requests to get.Pools were great and the ocean lovely but very little sand to walk the beach on for any stretch. Had very little restaurant food there but it was okay. We had 5 cats that adopted us for the week. They are semi-wild and won't allow you to pat them. We rented a kayak, did the full sail around the island and rented a car for 1 day. We lost electicity for several hours which was odd since the weather was fine. Met lovely people.Crime IS bad in Marigot where our rental car had its lock broken while we shopped at the market. U.S. homeowners insurance WON'T cover you in the Carribean so everyone needs to get the rental car ins. We learned the expensive way! Sunset Bar watching planes come in over your head is fun.We will return someday but we like to try new places.

We were at Divi little bay for 9/18 - 9/25/2010. It was our tenth anniversary. Our room was overlooking the infinity pool which is a great view of the sea. The staff were very nice and the Toucan restaurant was the best value on the island that we ate at. The wine special was $12.99 a bottle of a nice Italian red. The pork chops and the seafood pasta were very good. The only negative is the walk up the hill to get to the unit, but I appreciated the excersize. There were mosquitos and we did get bitten, used repelent so it was not that bad.

We arrived just after Hurricane Earl and the resort was cleaning up and replacing the beach. They weathered the storm well. Their staff were very pleasant and truely helpful. Any need was imediately taken care of. The rooms were very clean, well appointed and bug free. Pick and choose on the restaurants' menus and the food was fine. The wine specials were very good for the price. The small store was reasonable for our immediate needs and the super market wasn't very far away. Phillipsburg also was a short drive. The many restaurants were further away, but you can drive the whole island in an hour. It looks like all the rooms have a decent view, some a little better than others.
Take the walk up to see the view from Ft. Amsterdam. We will return there in a year or two.

We were at the Divi resort during Hurricane Earl, in 2010. The resort wasn't responsible for the weather, but their reaction to the hurricane was awful. They did not clean up the beach of seaweed for most of the week that we were there. The pools were not fully opened all week. We had NO POWER for more than 2 days, and they didn't bother to do anything to make our stay more comfortable. The resort next door had generators for all the rooms, so they weren't without power at all. They had their pool cleaned up the day after the hurricane, as well as their beach. We had to beg to get a maid to come to our room to empty our garbage cans and change our towels. They never opened the children's centre for the entire week that we were there. We would NEVER go back.

We stay at the Divi Little Bay on the newer, renovated end (closest to the Bellair) and it is like heaven to us! The 1 bedroom unit is right on the beach and infinitely private. We literally jump off the patio wall and are on the beach--the first time I went it made me nervous at first that we were so close to the waves!

The unit with modern decor is comprised of a fully stocked, beautiful kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, a bedroom with flat-screen tv that opens up to the balcony overlooking the sea, bathroom with separate vanity/jacuzzi area, a private shower (with body jets!), toilet and sink area, living area with an additional flat-screen tv and seating areas (including a sleeper sofa) that open up to the balcony, as well. The unit also has a stacked washer/dryer which is a huge bonus when traveling longer than a few days. There are no tacky, loud Hawaiian prints in the unit--it is really very tastefully done.

Our housekeeper was fantastic--she was so personable my son gave her hugs whenever he saw her, and even though I always wanted to "save her some work" by doing things myself, she told me she loved her job and insisted I leave her some cleaning! When we wanted activities, the lady at the front desk arranged everything for us and got us a great price.

The Grand Marche in Marigot was a perfect place to get groceries and things we needed (we have food allergies so it was definitely well-stocked since we wanted for nothing) and it was a great time to go to the French Market for fish and spices, as well. We didn't do a lot of dining out because we were so comfortable and happy in our unit, but we did particularly enjoy the restaurants within walking distance to the French Market and some of the Indian places in Phillipsburg. All in all, Divi Little Bay has a special place in our hearts as it provides us the beauty, peace, and fun we so desperately need!
