We had been shopping and walking through Philipsburg for some time. At one time we found ourselves at the beach area and mentioned to someone that we were possibly interested in a Segway tour. He promptly escorted us to the vendor that offered this service. After deciding that several of us would partake, but that we were firstly and foremost hungry, he escorted us to a nearby restaurant that clearly was offering a kickback for tourists brought to them. And no wonder, with sandwiches and burgers in the $11 - $13 range, we decided to leave and look for something more unique.. and better priced. And are we glad that we did!
We walked back to Old Street and stumbled into Saveurs de France. It's a small, cozy little restaurant that offered the most wonderful crab salad and noodle dishes that we've ever enjoyed! The waiter was very courteous and attentive. And on top of all that, traveling with the younger generation that likes to be "plugged in", it sure didn't hurt that this restaurant offered free WI-FI! We love St. Martin and look forward to going back. When we do, this restaurant will be the first stop that we make!
