We were extremely pleased with the service we received when we rented beach chairs and an umbrella from this establishment. But ordering food from the beach is another thing! It's all run by the same people and an attendant from Pirates in Paradise offered to take our lunch order. We happily placed 3 lunch orders and a bucket of beer/pop mixed. The food was decent, but then we received our bill and the experience turned sour.
The menu showed a bucket of beer/pop mixed to be $10. (Considering you can buy beer and pop for $1 each anywhere along the beach, this is already normal to high pricing). But the bill showed $12 for the bucket AND "SC of $5.00." We were told this was for service beachside. Despite the fact that our food took 40 minutes to come and it came without cutlery so one of us had to head deep into the restaurant to find someone who was willing to give us cutlery for 3 people! This is hardly "service" but you can't really do anything about that. Obviously we wouldn't tip anymore than this SC.
When we questioned the waiter about the $12 charge for the bucket he stated "the menu you had is old - they are now $12." I don't care where you're from (and this establishment is owned by an American) the published price on the menu I see is the price I agree to pay! The waiter would not adjust this price and even went to fetch another menu to show us the new price. But it still showed $10 on that menu too!! At this point we asked for a supervisor who completely agreed with us and told the waiter he should not have argued.
Check your bills folks! This restaurant sells burgers separate from fries, and leaves you feeling screwed over with it's sketchy practices.
