We have stayed at this hotel many times and have never been disappointed. I don't understand when people say that this hotel is not on the beach. It definately is and on a beautiful stretch of beach. Rooms are large and clean. My husband can walk to his dive company and there are many resturants within walking distance. We will be staying here again in November for 2 weeks, and can't wait. We have another couple joining us the second week and can't wait to show them the Atrium and all the island has to offer.

My husband and I stayed here at the Atrium thru our travel club in Feb 2012. This resort was always very clean and staff very friendly. This was our first time to this Island and found the whole Island very friendly and very safe to walk around and drive anywhere you want to go.Also made a lot of friends at their pool side Bar . So we were looking for somewhere else to go for our 23 wedding anniversary in Nov. but I think we will just come back here. Looking forward to seeing some friendly faces that made us feel like family. Thanks Atrium for great memories,we will be back for more. Your friends Mark and Robbin Parsons

Room Tip: we stayed in rm# 501,overlooking ocean and pool. Loved our views although the room could use some up...

My wife and I stayed one night as we were not checking into our timeshare exchange until the next day. We had taken a flight from Montreal the day earlier in order to save more than $300 in airfare. We were assigned room 200 at $170 which was on the first floor and was an efficiency unit and well furnished and had a comfortable king bed.
We arrived after 9.00pm and as there is no food available in the hotel we had to wander off by ourselves to search. Some of the nearest restaurants were closed and we did not fancy the next door Burger King, fortunately we found a small bar that served "Tapas"
The bellman is called Lionel Richie, and went out of his way to help, looking after our luggage, directing us to a great breakfast place "taste factory", advising on how to get the local "bus" to go to Phillipsburg and having a taxi waiting for us to go to our resort. The staff in general are very friendly and we enjoyed our stay, but would not want to spend a full vacation there, it is not on the beach and in a busy area with a lot of traffic.

My husband and I stayed three nights. The beach is in the back of the hotel, along with a couple of bars/restaurants, which is convenient. The staff was helpful and housekeeping was friendly. We had a great suite (it is our honeymoon) and the room had so much to offer, including a kitchen. We had two balconies overlooking Simpson Bay and the Caribbean.
There are also a great restaurant nearby called The Melting Pot (if you like roti's)
Would recommend to anyone, especially to stay during off season.
Thanks to everyone at the Atrium for making our stay delightful!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the beach.

Since our flight was delayed a couple of hours we arrived after 9pm. Check in was quick and painless.....however since it was our first time here it would have been nice if we had a quick overview of the resort, and area. We asked about dining, and shopping....everything in area pretty much shut down. The rep could have been more helpful. That being said from the front the resort is quite deceiving.....looks small however, once you walk to the pool area you discover an amazing beach! Beautiful calm crystal clear water. Tranquil. We had a studio unit. Nice size, clean and seems as if appliances are somewhat new. Not much lighting, though, and sink is in separate area from stove and fridge.....we managed...no problem. We were only 'allowed' two new towels a day....not sure why.. The resort is located where you can pretty much walk to many shops and restaurants. We however rented a car, since we like to explore the whole island. Definitely a great family or couples place.

This was my husband and my first trip to St. Maarten. The Atrium was the perfect location for us! It is on the beach and walking distance to restaurants and food markets. Some great restaurants we tried: Jimbo's, Cappuccino, Topper's, and The Taste Factory (for dessert). We did not rent a car and we didn't need to! The staff was very friendly and willing to answer any of our questions--and we asked a lot. The room (studio) was all that we needed and had everything we needed when we wanted to cook/ eat-in. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Green House Restaurant located next door to the Atrium. We had a wonderful, magical time. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean front or ocean-view room, staff is very accommodating.
