Our weekly one bedroom accommodations where great. The kitchen was well equipped (my husband loves to cook and usually travels with his own knives, didn't even have to use them this time). The living area was open and spacious, great balconies, a minute walk to the beach, dive shop and well supplied grocery store, nice pool, good restaurants within walking distance (we didn't rent a car), and, most importantly, the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the housekeeping efficient. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Room 310 on a corner. Even though our big balcony did not have a direct view of the ocean, it overlooked the main street and mountains behind Simpson Bay, it was very nice. One could see the ocean slightly from the bedroom balcony which overlooked the street entrance around the corner from the main balcony.

Whenever we visit this magnificent island, we stay at the Atrium. Why? Front office staff don't just answer our questions professionally and in a friendly manner, they also offer extra suggestions whenever they feel you'd be benefitted by them. Security is excellent, and very effective too. Housekeeping staff go the extra mile to make sure the room is cleaned, the dishwasher is emptied, the beds are perfectly made, etc., etc. Maintenance seems to be working 24/7 too, because when things need repair or fixing, this is done in no-time. And........always in a sincerely friendly way. In the Atrium we have found a real Family of friends in the staff.
Congratulations for being who you are, and THANK YOU for your daily contributions in making this lovely island an even better place!

Room Tip: Frontoffice staff and -management will cater to your needs best. This time we stayed on the 8th floor. Absolutely beautiful views.

The atrium has been on of my greatest experiences ever staying in a hotel. The staff are very professional and friendly. The hotel is well maintained. And the overall experience has been unforgettable. The front desk staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I will be back to stay at the Atrium on another trip.

I could not have asked for a better experience

We first visited St. Martin on a cruise a couple years ago, and wanted to come back for a longer stay. We weren't sure where to stay but liked the generally good reviews of the Atrium. When we arrived, we were a little surprised at the location which appeared to be right in the thick of the hustle and bustle of Simpson Bay. Looking at the reviews and info about the resort, it is not advertised as being in a quiet location, but we were still surprised that it was so close to the main road and not really separated from the surrounding community. We found this to be a plus rather than a detriment, however. We had a great 2 bedroom condo on the 6th floor (facing the Bay, overlooking the pool, and even with a view of the mountains behind us - oddly, there was an undeveloped lot just below our main balcony [there were two balconies in our suite], which was not very scenic, but the other views made up for this). The unit was clean and decorated in a "Caribbean" style. There was a maid service for trash and towels every day and a mid-week cleaning of the entire place. The staff was extremely helpful (but not overtly engaging, which I think may account for a couple of the negative comments of other reviewers) - we attribute the sort of laid-back approach of the staff to the culture - never did we ask for anything that was not immediately taken care of (For example, my wife noted that there was a hook missing from the back of the door in the bathroom, which she just mentioned in passing to a cleaning lady - within minute, a custodian was in the suite installing another hook - sounds minor, but it was just one of a few examples of the helpfulness of the staff). The pool was small, but since we went to St. Martin in June, there were no large crowds, and it was well-maintained. The beach was right on the property - it is on a bay, so it is protected - no ocean waves. There were a lot of water sports available at the beach and near-by, so again, the location works in your favor. The Atrium provides fresh beach towels each day, and also beach loungers and beach umbrellas at the beach adjacent to their property. Plenty of restaurants are also near-by, and The Greenhouse feels like it belongs to the Atrium, it is so close - we really enjoyed this restaurant (great prices, long happy hour, good service). Aside from the dusty lot near the resort, the only other slight negative is that each night you can definitlely hear the "thump" of music coming from a couple clubs not too far away - this was never a real issue for us, and we could never hear any music or noise in our main bedroom (the second bedroom was on the side of the clubs, so it may have been different in there). You are also near enough to the airport to see and hear all the airplanes taking off - this again was not a detriment or annoying in any way (to us - if you just can't stand any type of noise like that while on a vacation, you will not be pleased at the Atrium). All in all, the Atrium is a terrific place and while not a 5 star luxury resort, it is well worth a stay and made for a great week in the Caribbean.

Room Tip: Try to get a room higher up (we stayed in 603 and were very happy)

The employees at the front desk were nice but they were only doing what they know witch isn't much for the hospitality industry. I laid on the bed the first night and realized that the bed was old. In the morning I got out of bed and felt a prick. When i moved out of the way 2 springs were sticking out and cut the back of my leg. I wish i could put up the pictures i have. Two deep cuts with black and blues. The assistant manager,Rick Bertin-Maurice was told and never said a word to me until i approached him the day i was leaving and i told him that all they did was cut the two springs showing and flip the bed. There was still springs showing and all Rick Bertin-Maurice told me was that they will put new mattresses soon and sorry. He is a sorry excuse for an assistant manager. There is no WiFi in most of the rooms because 3 of my coworkers could not get it either. My toilet backed up twice. They can be sure i will let the manager and the US based company know how uncaring there staff is. There is to much to choose from in St. Maarten.....
