This was suggested to us for lunch by a jeweler in Philipsburg. The food was very good, but the service was lack luster to say the least. Plenty of delicious looking vegetarian options. You had to buy rice, roti and other items separately, so it wasn't a super cheap lunch, but it was worth the amount we paid. Our waitress was nice enough to make a recommendation but then sort of forgot about us. My husband was annoyed that it says it has wifi, but it wouldn't work at all, even with help from our waitress. Then, what looked like an owner or friend came into the dining area with his computer and started watching videos on the internet. Looks like they have wifi, just not one that works for the customers.

I asked for a Chicken Vidaloo and a chicken Tikka main course with a mild curry for my wife.
It took a while as the staff were setting tables and ignoring customers.
The chicken vindaloo came with large potatoes in it and was a very dry meal. Very short on sauce and devoid of ANY spice whatsoever.
It resembled a potato hash type of meal which has potatoes in it and is not spicy at all.
My wife's tikka came with NO sauce and we had to ask for it.
Out came a masala sauce which my wife doesn't like. We sent it back. Out came some type of tartare sauce which was no good either.
They don't seem to be able to make a curry sauce full stop.
When we enquired about the vindaloo the answer was"that's it"
I've never had a vindaloo that wasn't spicy before. There was non spice in this at all.
We paid and left. We were getting nowhere.

My husband and I had a thorougly enjoyable meal here. We ate samosas, onion bajiie, nan, shrimp saag and chicken tika Marsala. Excellent! Service was great and they'll make your food as mild or spicy as you wish. Everyone there was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend it.

Some of the best Indian food i have ever had.. including london. Great service. We had the frankie chicken for an app - have never seen this on an indian menu... sort of a chicken burrito with amazing spices- excellent. also the fried veggies were great. for main dishes we had the tandoori shrimp and the chicken tikka marsala- we have had both many, many times ... and these were the BEST here. yes, its a basic looking place on a second floor... but the prices were so reasonable and the food so wonderful, who cares about the atmosphere. if it had an ocean view, i may have had to move in forever! i cannot recommend this place highly enough! GO.

We walked or drove past Shiv Shakti on several occasions during our visit and were a little dubious about going in. The saying 'don't judge a book by its cover' comes to mind; the decor and atmosphere is extremely basic but the food itself is not only outstanding, it is very reasonably priced - by far the least expensive dinner for 4 we had during our week long stay. As other reviewers have mentioned, it takes a while for the food to come after being ordered, but is made fresh - and you can taste the difference.

Ignore the exterior, ignore the decor; if you love good Indian food, this is a place you have to go. The bonus is that a large meal for a family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys) and beers will set you back less than $100. Wow!!
