Had dinner here our first night in St Maarten. Decided to give it a try because of the positive reviews on tripadvisor. Didn't disappoint. This place is truly hidden away. We had a bit of trouble finding it, because it's off the beaten path. Once we did find the restaurant we were a little concerned, because we were the only customers. We found out that they were preparing to close for the annual month long vacation and for renovations. Nonetheless, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our party of 4 had 2 fish entrees, a steak and rack of lamb. Everything was excellent. The grouper with creole sauce was the best meal I had on the island! If The Hideaway had been open, we would have visited again before we left.

Here for the week, just had to visit our favorite little find in Simpson Bay, St. Maarten! The Hideaway never disappoints! Always a family favorite. Arrived, and were greeted warmly by Neville and John and were seated by the eternity pool - a wonderful, peaceful presence to this little "Hideaway" in St. Maarten. We ordered the caprese salad, which was incredibly flavorful! Neville brought warm rolls enjoyed by all and we ordered drinks and a bottle of chardonnay from the wine menu. Dinner consisted of grouper entrees with lime butter sauce for all. FANTASTIC! The entree was served with small portions of vegetables, tortellini, and herbed rice for all. This place is consistently fantastic, and every time we come back to St. Maarten, we visit this place. Always welcoming, always fantastic! We will be back again, and again!

Loved the fresh fish and the tropical rum drinks. We had mahi and fresh grouper. Salad dressing was excellent.

Great restaurant overlooking Simpson Bay and a forever pool. At the end of the road for all the resorts so many don't even know it is there. Breakfast and lunch are reasonable and many options. Dinner offers mostly Caribbean entrees but the spice can be medium to hot. A DJ plays Caribbean music as well as music from the 60's to 80's. A very enjoyable place to relax for an evening of beach and fun. Prices are usual for the Island, averaging in the $20's and $30's US. US currency is the norm, tipping can only be in cash throughout the island and very few restaurants accept the tip on a charge card.

after visiting st maarten a few times and staying at la vista resort, we finally decided to eat here. we have only been there for the free snacks or breakfast previously. we usually do not go out for expensive dinners so we decided to try a lunch. we went back twice. my wife really liked the burgers and i really liked the price. even though the dinner menu is on the pricey side, the breakfast and lunch are very well priced. and there are plenty of options to choose from. the la vista resort is home to the hideaway restaurant and is a nice quiet location beside the pool with an ocean view. it is probably one of the under used restaurants in the area. but if you are looking for a very reasonably priced breakfast or lunch, you should give it a go.
