“A Enjoyable Stay at the Turquoise Shell Inn”
Reviewed 30 January 2010

We stayed at Turquoise Shell Inn for 4 nights prior to travel to St. Bart's. My sister and her husband stay here every year prior to boarding their sailboat for an extended vacation in the Caribbean area. So, Carter and Polly were expecting us and greeted us like old friends. The rooms are very clean, well layed out and Carter provides lots of tips on the local Simpson Bay area; from restaurants to grocery stores; he is very knowledgable of the area and activities. The location is perfect as it is right behind Simpson Bay Beach which is very nice for a morning and afternoon swim. We walked the beach to Maho twice to watch the planes arrive at around 2:00 p.m.; it's a good walk but always exciting to see the larger planes land on the short runway.
We'll definitely stay here again on future trips to St. Maarten.

This was our 2nd stay at the TSI... We usually stay here for a few days before heading to our timeshare. The rooms are very clean, roomy and the staff extremely friendly/helpful. The location is excellent where you can easily walk to the beautiful beaches or to the many restaurants in the area feeling safe the whole time. We will be back and very happy to have found a place that allows us to enjoy the Island for a few days longer than normal. Thank you TSI!!!

Stayed with friends in December 2009. Perfect location close to all hot spots. Marcus, the innkeeper is very accommodating and helpful. Good size rooms with kitchens. Beach is not perfect, but it is not a problem because you want to visit all wonderful beaches on the island anyway. The best value for the money.

My mother and I recently stayed for a few days at the Turquoise Inn after a trip to Saba. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and beach. The beach is beautiful, quiet (but not too quiet) and we loved the pool so much we spent whole afternoons there relaxing and watching the hummingbirds. Everything is very clean and well organised. We also loved the little extras like a newspaper in the morning and beach towels. The owners are very helpful and we were able to plan interesting excursions with their advice. I would stay here if you like a quiet, private and relaxing holiday and it is far prettier than any of the big resorts we saw on the island.

I just completed my third trip to the Turquoise Shell Inn in the last two years. I now feel like I'm "coming home" when I visit the Turquoise Shell. Carter, Marcus and Polly are so hospitalble, and the Inn is perfect! The rooms are clean, comfortable, and the location is centrally located on the island. I can't believe I have received so much on these trips, and the price is SO reasonable! I am already planning another trip in the spring!

My sister has visited the Turquoise Shell Inn several times and highly recommended it for a pre-high season get-away.... and I was not disappointed. The proprietors were extremely gracious and the accomodations were quite comfortable and relaxing. The location along Simpson Bay allowed walking to a variety of restaurants, shops, bars and casinos. And of course a beautiful beach setting is just a hop and a skip away. I believe I have found my St. Maarten haven for future visits.

We have timeshare at The Pelican Club that runs from Saturday to Saturday in February of each year. We like to spend a couple of extra days in St. Maarten, and this past year we stayed 3 days/nights at the T-Shell Inn. Carter and Marcus are WONDERFUL hosts; the T-Shell is EXTREMELY clean and quaint, and very affordable. The location is EXCELLENT - walking distance to many great restaurants. Ask Marcus or Carter to recommend a few restaurants on the island. They won't steer you wrong. We will be going back February 2010 and have already reserved our room the T-Shell !!!!
