“Perfect place to stay in Grand Case”
Reviewed 19 April 2013

My husband and I stayed at Bleu Emeraude from March 24th to the 28th. This is a great place to stay in Grand Case. Our room was a studio apartment, facing the beach, one floor up from ground level. We had great views from our room and balcony. The décor is modern and extremely clean and well cared for. There is a full sized fridge, stove and even a washing machine for your laundry (if you want to do that…).
Full sized electronic shutters darken the room at night and keep out the noise, if there is any. We were not disturbed by any noise at all.
Dash and Frederic graciously accommodated our requests for both early check-in, as we were arriving from other accommodations, and for late check-out, as our flight was not until late afternoon.
This is the perfect place to stay if you want to experience the restaurants in Grand Case as you can easily walk to all the great restaurants in just a few minutes. And you should experience those restaurants…. they are that good!
There is plenty of beach for swimming and the beach area feels very quiet.
I loved this place.
I would not hesitate for a minute to stay here again.

We just returned from our second stay at this lovely property. The first time (which was our last visit to the island) was in July 2010. That long a gap between visits can cause one to question whether it will still be as good as the first time. Fortunately, it was just as good if not better.

My favorite features of this property:
- Location, location, location. We are foodies and always stay in Grand Case so we can walk to our favorite restaurants in the evenings. It's an easy walk to town from here, whether on the road or on the beach. It's not taxing at all, but just long enough to allow yourself the illusion that you're walking off a few of the calories you just consumed. Oh yeah, and it's right on the beach. There is nothing better than falling asleep to the sounds of the gentle waves of Grand Case Bay.
- Wonderfully quiet. Because it's toward one end of the bay, it's a very peaceful, serene spot.
- Decor and amenities. We love the modern style of this property, from the (literally) cool marble tile floors to the well-equipped updated kitchen. Daily maid service is very thorough. A few of the nice touches: beach towels, comfy chaises and umbrellas on the beach, and a shutter that comes down over your sliding glass doors if you don't want to be disturbed by the sun in the mornings.
- Free continental breakfast (new since our last visit). Plain and chocolate croissants, baguettes, butter, jelly, coffee, orange juice. You can tell the baked goods are freshly made. We'd pad up to the 1st floor, get our croissants and coffee, then take everything back down to our balcony to enjoy our breakfast while overlooking the water. Perfect!
- Service. The young lady and gentleman who worked the front desk were absolutely wonderful and helpful.

Everyone has different reasons for visiting this wonderful island. If you're looking for easy access to great food in a quiet spot, you should consider Bleu Emeraude.

Bleu Emeraude doesnt seem like a hotel. It feels more like you have your own modern condo directly on the beach. While we were there it never felt like there were other guests intruding on our privacy. We had our big, clean, white modern room with a full wall of glass facing directly on to the sea and a large terrace. Our croissants and delicious coffee was waiting for us every morning. And every day Frederic put out our beach chairs and umbrellas for us and every evening he put them away again. Frederic helped us make reservations for dinner (when needed) and also helped us to reserve on the ferry to St. Barts. He arranged all our taxis for us. It was like having our own staff. If you want to meet a lot of other people and have a big pool with umbrellas in your drinks, you need to go to a different hotel in a different town. If you like solitude and simplicity, with a fun town just a short walk down the beach, this was perfect.

We are family with two teenagers who stayed for a week in a spotless large 1 bedroom on third floor. Freshly-baked breakfast with juice and excellent coffee provided each morning was a real treat. Maid service was thorough and exceedingly helpful. Not a mega-resort by any stretch, but it was just what we were seeking. We explored incredible beaches on the island by day, walked to/from fabulous Grand Case restaurants each evening, and enjoyed the comfort of our room at night - what's not to love?

Room Tip: The bedroom had considerable road (and rooster, barking dog, ...) noise - might be issue for light s...

We had a lovely stay at Bleu Emeraude. The rooms were very nice and modern. Views were spectacular! Right on the beach. The only thing which would have been better was to have higher floor for more privacy. Very intimate hotel which I love. If you like the all-inclusive cookie cutter style, this is not for you. No pool, but private beach. The breakfast is OK. Gets kind of redundant after a few days. Its only coffee, juice, and croissants (which are quiet delicious.) Walkable to all the great restaurants in Grand Case.

Room Tip: Room tip: the 1 bedroom faces the road from the bedroom, and I read that it's very loud as the r...

We really enjoyed the overall ambiance of this residence. It is a 5 minute walk to all of the restaurants in Grand Case (be sure to check out Talk of The Town (lolo), L'Auberage Gourmande, and Le Pressoir). We started each morning having croissants on the balcony. We rented a car and explored the entire island. We also enjoyed relaxing on the private beach. Dasha and Frederic were terrific with assisting us in making reservations and answering our questions. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily. I highly recommend Bleu Emeraude.

We look forward to returning to Bleu Emeraude in the very near future!

Just came back from a stay at Bleu Emeraude and I have only good things to say about this place.
Spectacular view, on the beach (not crowed at all), great service, very comfortable, well-equipped apartment, close to the best St-Martin's restaurants.
To make it short: You should not hesitate to go there! now! :-)
