Le Petite gets its always positive reviews for a reason - the place is spectacular. We stayed on the third floor which I highly recommend - high ceilings are awesome. And the view when you walk through the door is straight through to oh so blue water.

Modern build out is very nice. Large shower with nice rain head and warm water. Comfy bed with great kitchen. Kitchen is well equipped, very functional and stylish! Basically, in a hotel with lots of employees, you are going to pay 750 to 1 k US for this type room and beach access.

Even better, the ownership and staff are ALL friendly and very helpful. And you can walk to absolutely incredible restaurants. We like to vary the vacation locations but this is one island and hotel I would reconsider revisiting!

Thank you Le Petite!

Room Tip: Top Floor!

Absolute Perfection! My wife and I just returned from 9 amazing days at Le Petit. The hotel is immaculate with high-end appliances, slate tile, modern bathroom fixtures and much more. What can I say about the view from the balcony? Incredible. There's nothing like relaxing in the adirondack chairs watching the sun come up, waves breaking on the beach and then an amazing breakfast of fresh croissants, quiche, and expresso. Anne-Laure and Jean-Francois were so helpful and nice.
Now, here's some tips: We had room #5 on the second floor (thanks Anne for honoring our request!). Personally, I think the second floor is best because it's covered and gives a great mediterranean feel. If you look at the pics of the hotel the room on the far left is #6 and far right is #3. I'm sure the 3rd floor is great, too. There is a safe with electronic keypad for your valuables.
You are within walking distance to some of the best restaurants on the planet. We opted to drive to the northern end of Grand Case Blvd and park in the lot in front of Calmos Cafe. Then you can walk from there. We found the sand in the beach a little like walking in snow, but it's still doable.
One thing you need to anticipate is that Le Petit will give you that great caribbean experience of being surrounded by local residences and culture. You won't find vast green lawns and well manicured hedges - as many have said before - this is not a resort hotel with a pool and restaurant, etc... it's a fabulous clean, beachfront hotel allowing you to be immersed in caribbean culture.
As for transportation, we rented a Kia Picanto from Justice per Le Petit's recommendation. This was a great fun little car that allowed us to explore the island with ease. After driving all over the island we determined that Grand Case gives you solitude when you want it, but is close enough to drive to action as well. There's so much I could say, but words can't describe it!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a great balcony with a mediterranean feel. Third floor balconies are open.

We were lucky enough to have found Le Petit Hotel on Tripadvisor when we were planning our vacation to St. Martin and we are so happy we did! We loved that the hotel was small and intimate, not some sprawling resort full of loud drunk party people and salesmen trying to get you to buy a timeshare. It is situated on it's own beautiful beach with gorgeous views of Creole rock and Anguilla from every room. We loved everything about it and would definitely recommend it to anyone who want to stay in a hotel that is more like a bed and breakfast than a Motel 8. For more info keep reading.

We took our trip from May 26th-June 2nd, and from the beginning the process was very easy. Jean Francois helped us to not only make our reservations for the hotel but he helped us reserve a rental car from a local company as well. Before our arrival in SXM we received an email with our rental car company driver's info and time he would be picking us up from the airport ( a nice touch since we had no idea how to get from the airport on the Dutch side to our hotel on the French side). He was there right on time and he was really friendly and helpful. The drive from the airport to the hotel was probably around 20 minutes, not bad at all.

When we checked in at the hotel Jean Francois was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a map of the island as well as a map with some of the restaurants in Grand Case. He suggested some that he liked and let us know where we could find grocery stores, gas stations etc. He was nice enough to help us bring our bags (we are total over packers) up the stairs to our room on the 2nd floor. We had requested a room on the 2nd floor because we wanted a patio with a cover so we wouldn't have to be in direct sun if we didn't want to be, and they were able to honor our request, which we really appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised that the room was very nicely appointed with modern appliances and a beautiful rainfall shower. The room had everything you would need including ample closet and drawer space, free wifi, cable T.v., Ipod dock etc. and it was done in a very beautiful modern/Bali inspired fashion with fresh flower sprigs around the room. The room was gorgeous, but the view was to die for! I could have woken up everyday for the rest of my life to the beautiful view! The beach below was small but very clean and the water was perfectly blue with great views.

Breakfast is included in your stay at Le Petit which we loved, and it consisted of fresh pastries, quiches, french bread, fruit and fresh squeezed juice. It was more than enough to keep us happy until lunch, and we ate it every day instead of spending extra money going to a heavy breakfast somewhere else.

We were within walking distance to the many restaurants in Grand Case, but I would suggest walking on the beach side as the road side doesn't have any sidewalks and the roads are a bit narrow. Walking on the beach to restaurants during the day was actually really nice, but at night we just drove our rental.

Although Le Petit doesn't have it's own pool, the fact that it is situated right on the ocean more than makes up for that. I can't imagine why you'd want to swim in a pool when the ocean is as beautiful as it is here. If you do want to swim in a pool it is just a short drive to their sister hotel Le Esplanade and guests can swim there. It also doesn't have an on-site restaurant, but it is so close to the restaurants in Grand CAse that it makes no difference either.

Honestly, there is not one thing I could complain about when it comes to our stay at Le Petit Hotel. We did a lot of research before we booked and like most people, we were skeptical about the reviews we read, but every good thing you read about this hotel is true! It is a small, clean, well-staffed boutique hotel that provided everything we could have asked for. We wanted a vacation where we could just spend time away from the crowds and enjoy a romantic and wonderful time together, and for us there is no other hotel we would stay at the Le Petit Hotel when we come back to visit again.

Room Tip: We loved the 2nd floor because it had a covered patio and still had a great view! Room 3 is on the...

Just returned from a week's stay at Le Petit Hotel. The property, room and service completely lived up to the reviews I'd read about Le Petit. The room was very well thought out, so well appointed and just lounging on the balcony was heavenly. Everything is immaculately maintained. Being able to store snacks and drinks in the fridge was really useful. If you like to travel with your own soundtrack, know that the rooms have iPod-ready stereo systems, CD players and free wifi (if you want to stream music). I would easily stay again at this property or at its sister property, L'Esplanade. That said, here are a few thoughts and "wish I'd known" notes.

The island is relatively small, but, especially if you are on the French side, getting to a beach can be a task. Renting a car is really a good idea. Le Petit is NOT walking distance to anything more than the village and the small strip of beach it sits on. We rented a car at the airport rather than through the hotel, but I think the pricing difference was only slight. St. Martin is tricky to drive around: roads are tight, often unpaved and definitely potholed. (One sage resident suggested I pay VERY close attention to where the biggest potholes were on any roads I would use repeatedly. "Learn them! Because when it rains, you won't be able to see them and you can easily lose a tire in one of 'em!") The parking area at Le Petit is smallish. Know that you may have to back your car out onto the rather busy road!!! And you really don't have a clear view of the northbound traffic. Another thing to be aware of: parking "attendants". These are people who hang around public parking lots, helpfully wave you into a spot and then tell you they want $2 (or so). Some will just outright tell you they want money in return for watching your car. This is not just in Grand Case - we skipped a few beaches just so we wouldn't worry about car theft or hassling.

Le Petit always has night staff - not that I expected anything to happen, but it was just nice to know there was someone around.

This hotel has neither a pool nor a restaurant. Neither amenity will be missed. Every room looks out over the small sandy beach, Creole Rock and Anguilla in the distance. Nice. The hotel puts out lounge chairs every day and will gladly provide you with towels, snorkeling equipment and iced water if you just want to lounge on the beach. In the mornings, a buffet is available - take your pick of quiches, sweet or savoury pastries, sliced fruits, whole fruits, yogurts, fresh juices, coffee, tea...grab a tray and enjoy breakfast on your balcony.

The food is truly grand in Grand Case. Walking up the beach to the village center is suggested by the hotel staff and locals. It's a pretty good idea. (Just don't walk it alone and watch for ropes and things that might be on the beach.) Didn't have a bad meal anywhere in Grand Case; the staff's recommendations were all good.

Room Tip: Third floor has the best views. Second floor rooms split the difference between convenience (only on...

Let me sum this up: perfect little hotel. This is not a resort.

They were very easy to deal with via email to arrange our trip. We stayed one night, then had to go to a different area of the island for a wedding, then came back 3 more nights. They were great about working us in for an early check in and incredibly friendly. The best thing is that it is such a well run operation, you really don't need them for much. If you are thinking about something, they probably already have done it (2 beers, cokes/diet cokes, sprite and big bottles of Fiji water on the house await you in the fridge)...oh and Famous Amos cookies!

Room was beach front. Literally you could walk right out to the ocean and there was a massive private porch off our room that could be accessed from our room or the separate living room. The ocean would lull us to sleep every night. The room was chic caribbean, with classic accents as well (some great dark furniture and wooden ceilings). Big TV with tons of channels in both rooms (even though we didn't use it much it was so pretty outside). Full kitchen if desired, bathrooms were unreal. This room actually had 2 full baths!

Breakfast was just perfect. Freshly baked pastries from a local shop, fruit, and an espresso machine....yum. Check in and out was a breeze and there was a nightly security guard in the parking area who was very friendly. You can easily walk to the main restaurant district in about 5-7 minutes via beach or street (sidewalks are iffy). Wish they would serve it earlier than 8 am- that's my only complaint- I had morning dives scheduled at 8 and our flight leaving was early so I missed it 2x.

I can't say how wonderfully relaxing this hotel is. While it close to the street, all rooms face the ocean and we never really heard anything but the waves crashing on the beach. It was perfect!

Room Tip: Front desk closes at 5pm so plan accordingly!

My husband and I just returned from spending a week at the beautiful Le Petit Hotel in Grand Case. Our unit was room 7 on the top floor with a balcony overlooking a breathtaking view of the bay. Upon arrival we found that our refrigerator was stocked with cold drinks and a basket of snacks was on the counter. The room was beautifully furnished with a top of the line bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, our stay at Le Petit was way beyond our expectations with free snorkeling equipment, new beach chairs, complimentary beach towels, and a wonderful breakfast every morning consisting of freshly baked French croissants and similar pastries....and of course freshly squeezed juices and fresh fruit. You just pick up your breakfast from the lobby and bring to your room to dine on your balcony. Although we rented a car to tour the island, Le Petit is situated within walking distance from some of the best restaurants on the island. Also, they have a great selection of books for beach reading. We look forward to returning to Le Petit for at least a two week stay....one week is just not enough!

My husband & I landed in beautiful sunny St Martin to stay in a timeshare. It turned out to be disgusting , so we refused to stay.We drove to our favorite part of the island, Grand Case ,& started searching best hotels on trip advisor. We went to Hotel L'Esplanade first where we were greeted very cordially. They showed us two rooms on a mountain with the best views of the ocean in Grand Case, but we prefer to stay on a beach. Then they told us they had a sister hotel , Le Petit. We took a studio apartment , room 5. It was so cute , clean, tastefully decorated in very modern style, cosy, & a great bed with down comforters. You can hear the ocean as you sleep. The beachfront terrace is so serene with beautiful tropicsl plants. We also used the pool at L'Esplanade with a swim up bar. Allen, the bartender was fun & made delicious drinks. We met 2 honeymoon couples ,one from Florida Keys & 1 from Boston. They had chosen their hotel from trip advisor & said their rooms were great & had a very romantic atmosphere .The walk to all the gourmet restaurants on "Restaurant Row is short or u can drive or take a taxi . Trying to decide where to eat is insane, because you want to try them all. All restaurants have their menus posted outside , so that helps to find what your tastes are.We love this hotel & the staff was so nice . We will definitely look forward to staying there again.
