The grande case beach club is a cozy retreat. Have spent at least three times there over the past few years and always had a great time. Lovely accommodations, friendly staff. The restaurant on the premises is excellent, be it breakfast or wonderful dinner (great mussels!). It's also near all the great Grand Case restaurants - Spiga being one of them. The outdoor grills known as the Lola's, have home cooked delicious ribs and within walking distance. On Tuesday nights there is a street fair.m you will love this place.

We just spent 8 wonderful days in St Martin and I would highly recommend the Grand Case Beach Club. The location is perfect for walking to 'restaurant row' in the evening and the beach club itself if beautiful. The beach is small but very private and everything is there from a restaurant to water activities. We saw many of the big name resort properties and would easily chose the beach club over the big name resorts.

Room Tip: We stayed in a garden view room but if you have the money to spend on an ocean view room we'd re...

This is a nice quiet hotel on the beach , We have gone for years with our kids since they were toddlers and we love it. There are two beaches and a pool. A restaurant on the property which is convent for breakfast. Walking distance to the great restaurants and shops in Grand Case.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean front sometimes the garden view can have more mosquito's during parts of the year.

We stayed at GCBC the week of Oct 6-13 2013. This was our third stay there in the last 8 years. The same high quality that brought us back the second time, made it a no-brainer to come back there yet again for a quiet week in the sun.

For the first time, we stayed at an oceanside loft, and were very glad we did. The view from the room over the bay is extraordinary, especially the second floor balcony off of the bedroom. The room itself was very clean, as is usual there. The oceanfront rooms have there own lounge chairs on the grassy walk above the water. We used the kitchen a couple of times to cook meals. The kitchen is well appointed, though if you need a specific kitchen appliance or tool, just make sure they have it before you go to the supermarché. Closest market is the Simply Market located on the main road near L'Esperence aeroport road - 5 min. from the hotel and a well stocked, modern market.

The Sunset Café was, once again, a very good option for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, our stay was during the last week of the low season, and the Sunset Café was not open for dinner. It should be open as of Oct 14. Say hi to Philippe and crew. They are very friendly, as are all the other staff. (Everyone at the hotel appears to be bilingual - French and English, so go ahead and practice your Française!)

Near half of the superb restaurants in Grand Case were also in the process of opening up after the low season, but we still found a couple of excellent ones. Try Piazza Pascal and Le Tastevin. Both served excellent dinner menus. (We have never had a bad meal in the restaurants along the main drag in Grand Case.)

Security at GCBC is very good as usual. A roving guard 24h a day and heavy controlled-access gates. I even caught the guard watching the gate as we drove in and out to make sure no one else entered. Very attentive. That said, we never felt unsafe takng an evening walk through Grand Case itself. Lots of kids and tourists around.

Both sides of the island seem to be going through a flurry of roadworks improvements. The most anticipated is the new bridge from the Airport Rd across the bay to join the road to Marigot just south of the international border. It will shave a good 10-15 minutes off the trip from Princess Juliana Airport to the French side, bypassing the heavy traffic on the Dutch side. It should be open in December. There are also roadworks in Marigot presently that are slowing traffic in the whole area. Try to stick to the road along the water to avoid most of the congestion.

Back at GCBC, the resort remains very quiet. One building remains under renovation, meaning there may be less guests than usual. WiFi is free, but can remain spotty in areas. Try going outside for better reception. It seems that most hotels that we stay at still struggle with this service, something that is absolutely essential for most guests now.

We look forward to the weekly Manager's "mixer" to meet some of our fellow guests from Europe and N. America.

Again, this was an excellent trip to what has become our favourite get-away in the Caribbean.

Room Tip: Pick an Oceanfront room. Well worth the extra cost, with romantic views of sunsets from your room.

My wife and I arrived at 15:00 on October 3, 2013. It was about a 45 minute drive from the airport along the N7. The GCBC was a little difficult to find at first but we managed after a few wrong turns. The GCBC is a lovely secluded hideaway on the NW of St. Martin on the French side. We stayed in a garden view room #813. Bedroom and bathroom upstairs, living room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. The room featured 2 TVs that carried several cable channels and local NYC channels. TV reception was pretty clear not outstanding. The free WiFi was faster downstairs than up in the bedroom. Overall WiFi was pretty good. The rooms were very clean and the big box safe had more than enough room for our iPads phones and camera. There were patios on both levels that didn't feature much a view, but that was not an issue for us. The bathroom sink and shower did not work on the lower level so we used the upstairs one. This was not an issue. The toilets in both bathrooms worked well. We did not report this because we didn't want intrusions during our stay. The downstairs bathroom situation was not an issue for us.
The upstairs bathroom was standard French, meaning now shower curtains, so the floor got wet. The shower ran on the cold side so a hot shower was out of the question. No big deal because who wants a hot shower in the Caribbean?
The grounds of the GCBC were very well maintained. The Beach Club itself is by no means modern but it is very well maintained. The private beaches were tremendous. I love to swim long distances so I was up early 6:30 doing laps along the 100 yard rope that was in front of the Ocean View Condos. Super clean water and a few fish too. The personnel highlight of my stay was the early morning swims. Some reviews mention a rude blond French man that works at the water sports desk. We found him very charming and friendly. He always said hello to us.
The free continental breakfast was a great perk. Glass of OJ, coffee per person, two mini muffins, two croissants, two pieces of baguette and one chocolate chip croissant in a basket for two overlooking the beach. What a way to start the day. A bigger breakfast was available for an extra charge and the staff was superb. The cafe was only open during the day during our stay so we had to eat dinner in town. We ate at Le Quinze 3 nights and their pizzas are delicious. The waitress worked at both the GCBC and Le Quinze. Again a wonderful charming person. The other two nights we ate at Rancho Del Sol which featured excellent Tex Mex food. The staff their is also exceptional. One afternoon we dined at the local LoLo restaurant in Grand Case. Again excellent food and service.
I want to mention that one day we forgot to lock our suitcase and our souvenirs and a jacket with money were left in plain sight. Nothing was touched by the cleaning staff so I must mention that they are extremely honest as well as hardworking.
I must say that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the GCBC Laying out on the beach in the afternoons was so peaceful and relaxing. They do start cleaning up and stacking the beach chairs and cushions around 17:00 so at that time we left showered and then headed to the wrap around boardwalk to enjoy the sunset around 18:00. Then it was off to dinner. If you are looking for a quiet Caribbean getaway in a beautiful setting the GCBC is it. If you want ultra modern, desolate, overpriced and sterile try the Westin and enjoy listening to the timeshare salespeople all day long. We checked checked that out too and were totally annoyed by the pushy salespeople.

Spent a wonderful week at this warm and friendly resort in August of this year and just getting around to posting. This place was everything I read about....DELIGHTFUL. The proximity to town, the cleanliness, the people, etc are all spectacular. Walking to town and back for dinner was safe for us and we sure needed to walk after consuming the dinners. I could go on and on but there is no need to as this is a wonderful place.

Room Tip: Upstairs room have a nicer view.

Spent a week at GCBC; gorgeous, unspoiled, clean, well-cared for. Not a luxury spa but everything we were looking for. Perfect place for people looking for peace, quiet, scenery and relaxation. Rooms are not fancy but are clean (and cleaned daily) and spacious. Views are FANTASTIC.
