“Great food and prices”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

Went to this small restaurant on recommendation of a friend . Was not disappointed . The chef is a french and food is creative with unique twists. Service is a little slow but worth the wait. Make a reservation could be busy. Great deal for the meal right near the beach and one of the best pre fix in St Martin.

“A great restaurant”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

We have been staying in Grand Case for 28 years and L'Effet Mer provides one of the best dining experiences in the town. Presentation and quality are superb. The grand mariner soufflés we had for dessert (ordered a day in advance) were the best we had on the island since we first started going. The menu is excellent with a variety of dishes not found at many other restaurants. L'Effet Mer is definitely on our list of "must visit" restaurants. Brian & Lillian R

An excellent gastronomic restaurant (the lobster was delicious) directly above the beach, very quiet and gorgeaous view on the bay.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

This is definately where the locals eat. We had lunch at L'Effet Mer in September 2013. Beautiful location on the beach overlooking Grand Case Bay. Food was excellent as well as the staff, very friendly. Lots of locals and very relaxed atmosphere. It was also clean and freshly painted, which made it more inviting than some of the other restaraunts. We rented a car after disembarking from our cruise ship in Phillipsburg, shopping in Marigeau and then over to Grand Case for lunch. It was a beautiful drive and fun day.

“Intimate Dinning Innovative Menu”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

L' Effet Mer is a intimate sea side resturant, over looking Grade Case Bay, with an innovative flavorful menu. I had the gnocchi filled with sausage with slight spice a very different approach to a familiar dish. The French onion soup is another dish I would recommend; try it and be surprised. After all this is what dinning is all about. The wine list is extensive and adds to a lovely seaside dinning experience. Thank you Gwen for all your fine service. I'll be Back!
