If you enjoy eating local foods cooked by local people this is the place. We've tried several of the different dishes and like all that we have had. The people are very friendly and love having you to their place. We always go at least twice when we are in Grand Case and one of the visits has to be the Crab Backs and Johnnie cakes with a Carib beer. That is just good eating. Sundays they have a live band but we haven't been able to get across the island on a Sunday yet. Hope to return soon and enjoy this Good Local Food.

Folks rave about the Lolo's here in St.Martin but frankly, we were somewhat unimpressed. We ordered a plate of marlin (the Snapper was sold out and this was one of the only other two fresh offerings) and a plate of ribs. They both came with an assortment of starches and some slaw. The flavor of the marlin was good but there was nothing worthwhile in any of the other foods we ate. Interestingly, the couple who recommended this place later told us that they bring their own bbq sauce with them so I guess we should have realized ahead of time that there wouldn't be anything special about the local flavors.

Having eaten "local street food" everywhere in the world we've traveled, this was truly the most uninteresting. That said, it was indeed clean, the people were friendly, and the experience was nice. Just don't come for interesting food.

We ate here three or four times during our 9-day stay in Grand Case. I had the ribs each time, and they were fantastic -- flavorful, tender and juicy. Not slathered in barbeque sauce, but simply expertly seasoned and grilled. My wife usually had the conch, which she said was amazing (I couldn't try it, as I'm allergic to shellfish); one time they were out, so she had to settle for the shrimp, which she said was almost as good. The sides we tried were all tasty and fresh - rice and peas, cole slaw, green salad, johnny cakes, corn on the cob - delicious! The service was consistently pleasant and prompt, and the prices very reasonable - they charge in Euros but happily accept (prefer, really) US Dollars at a 1:1 exchange rate. The proprietress Jacqueline stopped by our table to chat, and she was very friendly, casual and down to earth - a pleasant departure from the "schmooze the tourist" act you so often see from small business owners in vacation locales. Highly recommended, best by far of the three lolos we tried in GC.

We stopped in here on our first day in town, hungry from the journey and having missed lunchtime at our Lovely French Cuisine Serving Hotel Cafe on the beach, and kept coming back throughout our time in Grand Case. We did sample a couple other lolos in St. Martin and Marigot, and though they too served up yummy, fresh grub, no one even held a candle to the masterpieces served up at Jacqueline's Sky's the Limit..... and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the talented Jacqueline that ourselves, when we met her and her mom there one day when we stopped in for lunch.

Everything on offer looked and smelled delish, but I will share my favorites - Lambi (stewed garlicky conch), with rice and peas and/or cole slaw and/or fresh green salad; Johnny cakes!!!!!, Rum Punch. And my husband's dear-to-his-heart favorite, hand's down was the ribs. He raved and raved at their succulent simplicity and even shared a couple with me, so I can verify: yes, I concur, they are awesome. He also liked the Malibu Mixte drink (Malibu rum and pineapple juice), and yes, I did sneak a sip and again concur. It was the bombe.

Also, must add that the in Jacqueline's absence, she has wonderful staff holding things down, a no nonsense manager, whose name we forgot to get, who gets the job done, a charming maitre d'bbq who sat us in the section he calls "lover's lane", and the Sparkling young waitress, Kayla, who made sure we had what we needed, at all times, including Rum Punch refills, when necessary.

What a lovely local spot. Do go, and then..... go back!!
