Everyone goes to Cane Bay, but ask your taxi driver to take you 10 minutes further up coast to Brewers Bay. Worth the trip (very steep roads and quite an adventure) but once there - just paradise. Nicole's Bar serves drinks and light meals with a stunning view of the beach. We came off a cruise ship for the day but even then there were only about 20 people on the entire beach. Water so clear, sand so white. A romantic afternoon sunbathing and swimming in the warm waters. Would definitely come back for a longer holiday. Stunning.

“Lovely beach break”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

We visited Tortola during our Christmas cruise and I loved the island. We took a taxi, shared with another couple, to Brewers Bay on the other side of the island. It was a scenic drive and didn't take long at all. The beach is spacious and quiet. We each paid $5 to use a beach chair, dragged them to a spot and stayed all day....well, until some obnoxious, loud family decided they should sit right next to me while they fought with each other. The beauty is I was able to pick up and move on down 20 feet to find peace again. The water was clear and pristine and we enjoyed the snorkeling area, too. There is a little snack bar on one end of the beach and the taxis are easily available. Great spot for sure but I can't wait to try others next time.

“A secluded Gem”
Reviewed 5 February 2014

This is our favorite beach on Tortola. It's beautiful and not too crowded. The water is clear and the snorkeling is good. There's a public beach on the west side with a funky little bar (Nicole's). If you want to get away and just chill out, this is the place!

“Ask first.”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

Brewer's Bay is a lovely place to go snorkeling or just sit on the beach. There is plenty of space, even with a couple of cruise ships in port, so don't worry about that.

If however, you are interested in snorkeling I would suggest asking the cab driver if the snorkeling is good that day before the cross island scenic ride. Having snorkeled there on a previous trip we just asked to be taken to Brewer's Bay and paid the driver the $8 per person government regulated fee (one way). Unfortunately the water was too rough for snorkeling. A couple on our cruise headed out earlier to snorkel, but asked the driver if the snorkeling was good at Brewer's Bay. They were told the water was too rough. Had we asked the proper question, we would have saved the $32 transportation costs plus the $5 deck chair rental.

Mini bus transport back to the dock is unscheduled, but frequent enough to depart when you are ready. A lovely spot to enjoy the beach with food nearby.

“One of the prettiest beaches on tortola”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

We saw Brewers Bay from a taxi during and island tour. We returned several days later and spent about four hours on the beach there. It was a Monbday and there were no cruise ships so the beach was ours. During our stay we saw only one other couple and they left shortly after we arrived. We had lunch and drinks at the small restaurant at the far end of the beach. It is a womans name which escapes me. The food was simple but all we needed and the rest room was clean. We took many photos of the beach and the many colors of the water there. It is a terrific spot for snorkeling and swimming and the sand is powder like. A wonderful spot!
