“Spring Break 2014”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

As seasoned travelers we never expect everything to go perfectly. However, we do expect that when problems arise that they will be addressed and satisfactorily resolved. This is the third consecutive time that both Virgin Traders and Virgin Island Sailing have exceeded our expectations in that regard! Here are some specifics regarding our experience;
 Throughout the planning process, Joann Higgins, our broker through Virgin Island Sailing, consistently responded to emails quickly and thoroughly answered our questions. More impressively, she conveyed such a delightfully optimistic attitude that she almost convinced us that we’d done her a favor by asking questions! Even when we didn’t ask, she offered information regarding transfers, ordering groceries, etc. Likewise, Joann followed up after our trip to ensure that we enjoyed our worry-free week.
 When we arrived, we were welcomed by a chilled bottle of champagne, a bottle of rum, and t-shirts for the entire crew. (We put all to use on our first free stay-aboard night!)
 Although the boat provided ample storage, VT agreed to store our empty suitcases on land for us.
 Shortly after our arrival we had difficulty with our WiFi and our groceries hadn’t been delivered. Instead of just offering us use of their phone (which was all we requested), Amanda placed the calls herself. Although she was perfectly polite and pleasant, she also commanded authority and saw that the issues were quickly resolved. We have no doubt that we would have struggled without her effective advocacy. Likewise, upon our return Amanda spontaneously called to confirm our water taxi—something we never thought to do. We were very thankful she took charge, as the taxi had inadvertently scheduled us for the following day and thus we would’ve been stranded and left struggling to find other transportation.
 Prior to leaving the dock, we received a thorough introduction to the boat and all of the mechanisms. In fact, the instruction was so complete that we never had a problem the entire week!
 Also prior to our departure, Amanda visited us on the boat and offered suggestions about where we should (and should not) travel during the first few days due to high winds and waves. Once again, her unsolicited advice helped us to enjoy our trip much more than we would have had we functioned on our own.
 The staff also cheerfully complied with our requests to take pictures of us on the boat before departure. Although they’ve probably handled this chore a thousand times before, you’d never know it as they acted as though it was a unique pleasure to be handed three cameras and asked to take several shots on each.

The Virgin Challenger itself was a pleasure to drive and ride—it handled well, even in high seas. Each evening as we bobbed gently in our chosen bay we’d admire the other boats and chat about which one we’d like to own. Consistently, we all agreed that the Challenger was the best choice! Her spaciousness, sleek lines and underwater blue LED lights made it an easy choice!

In short, the week was an exquisite treat that really can’t be adequately described! To have the opportunity to motor about the British Virgin Islands, coming and going at will, is something that everyone should be able to do at least once! There is no doubt in our minds that the staff of Virgin Traders and Virgin Island Sailing helped us optimize our trip. For that reason, we look forward to making a fourth trip with them in the near future!!

Susan, it was great to see you and your crew back onboard one of our Motor Yachts. As you know the BVI is a beautiful part of the world and a fantastic location for Motor Yachting. Guests come back again and again, we can't work out why!!!!!!! We hope to see you back onboard in the near future. Don't forget to enter our Photo Competition.

Bye for now, Amanda

“Virgin Challenger no challenge!”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

Our first bareboat charter with Virgin Traders we had the beautiful and stately Dream Trader as our home for two weeks. This time, (February 2014), we requested, and were assigned, one of the Horizon 56ft motor yachts- Virgin Challenger.
As skipper, I was a little worried about the extra length and beam of the boat but she turned out to be a pussy cat! Responsive controls and the bow thruster saw to that. Tight docking at Bitter End in a cross wind was no problem.
My worries assuaged, we were able to enjoy our cruising and diving to the max. We covered the whole BVI chain from JVD to North Sound and all the way back down the string of pearls to our last dive site at Norman Island, before heading back across the channel to home at Nanny Cay.
Because of high swells out of the south east we were unable to access one of our favourite dive sites, but the boat proved equal to the wind and waves and handled like a charm when we ventured out to see the conditions first hand.
As always, Amanda and the team were a joy to deal with before during and after our charter.
We hope to be back soon!

Robert, thank you very much for your kind words and for chartering a second time with Virgin Traders! We are glad you enjoyed 'Virgin Challenger' and that she performed well for you at sea - our Horizon 56's are our most popular due their roominess and ease of handling! Sorry the seas didn't cooperate for your last day of diving - guess you'll just have to come back again :)

“Our first Bareboat experience!”
Reviewed 25 January 2014 via mobile

Over Christmas and New Years 2013-2014 we rented the 40' Virgin Express. Upon our arrival we met some of the staff at their dock party. They welcomed us with open arms. The next couple of days we ordered our provisions and became familiar with our home on the water. We spent 8 days exploring several islands. We can not say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff was on our adventurous vacation. Would highly recommend Virgin Express boat for couples looking for a romantic get away. We will definitely go again. Thank you all at Virgin Traders.

We are so glad you enjoyed your first trip to the British Virgin Islands, and we are sure it will be just the first of many visits! The staff of Virgin Traders loved having you at our Christmas party- being a small company our staff are like family, and often our charter guests become our friends and family as well! We look forward to seeing you in 2015, or 2014 if you just can't stay away :) !

“Absolutely wonderful trip in the BVI”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

We spent 10 days on the 47.5 ft Dream Trader - 6 with our delightful captain - John Whitaker - and 4 bare boating ourselves.

We travelled to Norman Island, The Bight, Kelly's Cove, Jost Van Dyke, Trellis Bay, Anegada, The Baths, Saba Rock, Monkey Point, The Dogs, The Indians - it was a fabulous vacation with great service and a great team at Virgin Traders. Going with a Motor Yacht is a great way to begin bare boating - we'd highly recommend these guys for a great memory! A++ service!

We chartered in the BVI through Virgin Traders last Christmas-New Year's holiday (2012-13) and had an awesome time. Virgin Traders was easy to work with and provided great service. We are looking forward to returning to the BVI and Virgin Traders again this upcoming Christmas-New year's holiday (2013-14).
