Owner description: To get your cultural fill, stop by this small museum to view its collection of curios and relics from the island's slavery days.

The lady in the museum was friendly. But the museum itself is made of 2 rooms with a small display and some outdated information (they even do not bother to correct out-of-date information, they just write over on the panel!!!).

Still, it is FREE and you will learn some little thing. But it's a real shame that a financial paradize such as BVI are not able to finance a single world class museum abou their culture!

I wonder where all the money these tax-free islands get from billionnaires go... In a few pockets but certainly not in the culture of the BVI unfortunately!

This is a small but very informative little museum. The exhibits are basically a few cases with some artifacts. But there is a wonderful timeline covering most of the walls that walks you through the entire history of the island! Very very informative. Little gift shop had some hand crafted items that were maybe a little overpriced, but they support this little venue so we did make a few purchases - cash only, please (they've been trying to get permission to process credit cards, but no luck yet due to their status). No air conditioning, so the open door is all you get - hope for a breeze! Have to walk up steps to get inside, and I don't remember seeing a ramp. This is tucked off a side street, with lots of shopping nearby - not the chain stores, but smaller, local boutiques. We asked at the port information station how to get here, and they gave us a map - but we still had to ask a few locals to point out the place. If you get to the Sunny Caribbee Spice Shop, it is down the street from that, out the back door. Worth a visit if you love history!
