Owner description: Anegada or the "drowned island" is completely surrounded by shallow reefs, and has become the focal point of underwater diving due to the many historic shipwrecks that litter the island's underwater depths.

“Bring snorkel and a fat wallet.”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

If you don't like to snorkel I don't think I would recommend you making the trip. On the other hand if you do take a cab to Loblolly Bay. The shallow waters of the bay allow you to see some great fish in living coral structure and the security of the less experienced snorkeler. Very limited thatch umbrellas so be early for a chance to get one or try to gain access to anything that you can get shade with. When it comes to meals you will have to order well in advance for a scheduled time to eat and be prepared to thin your wallet with the price. Several good dinner spots but you'll need to have come by boat (not ferry) or overnight stay. As always, keep a good attitude in the BVI or stay home. Good for adults and kids alike. If you're a sailor make sure you hire a captain that knows the reefs because it is a very extensive maize that will only end up bad if you don't.

“GORGEOUS”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Anegada was beautiful and such a peaceful stop on our trip! The waters are calm and the beaches are white! We took a taxi across the island (sat in the back of a truck to be precise) and it was so great to be on such a slow paced island with few residents. Everyone we met was so sweet!

“Watch out for the deep sand roads...if you are on a rented scooter.”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

Lil Bit Scooter Rentals could have told us to go East to the beaches, on the paved roads, instead of sending us West via the sand roads. Everyone of us riding double wrecked multiple times in the deep, deep sand. One wreck resulting in cracked ribs. Rent a jeep or only drive East.

“Paradise on earth!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Beautiful! Go! Big Bamboo! Snorkel! I want to go back and stay on the island. We to Fly BVI for a day trip there. The pilot was professional and gave us tips on what to do. A lobster lunch was included and the bar is a must see. The color of the water can only be seen-pictures do not do it justice.
