“Overnight break-in on our boat--everything stolen while sleeping”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014

Last summer we ended our week charter by staying at the Marina. Our boat was broken into in the middle of the night. The staff at the Marina office where not helpful and to the day almost a year ago, i have not received an email or a call with any type of information, apology or explanation for the incident. There is another review from Javier and Karina Diaz who were on the same boat and suffered most of the losses. Marina needs more surveillance, security and a friendlier more prepared staff.

“Sopers Hole Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

Restaurant - Ate a Pussers. Made reservations, warm welcome and attentive service by Janice.. We had red snapper and 1/2 jerk chicken. Food was delicious, nice and hot and very fresh. Definitely worth coming back on our return next year.

Serenity Spa - was concerned about going for massage without knowing masseuse. Odila gave terrific massage. Definitely worth a repeat.

Sopers Marina - tried to make reservation for slip - 42' sloop. They would not take reservations for less than 50' boat. It's unfortunate because there were empty slip spaces when we arrived but was not happy that they wouldn't take reservations so picked up a mooring.

“Getting There and Leaving There”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

Love Soper's Hole, but would strongly advise against flying into St. Thomas and taking the ferry boat. The boat schedule means nothing to the operators, Native Son or any of the other ones. Returning from Soper's to St. Thomas March 29, 2014 took 4.25 hours before I was at the United Gate (where we were nearly bumped from the flight due to overbooking). The process involves
1. Boat 40 minutes late departing. The boat is mindful of The African Queen.
2. Clear customs in St. John (thought I was going to St. Thomas). Everyone and every bag off. Stand in line for 30 minutes.
3. Arrive Red Hook, St. Thomas. Fight for taxi.
4. 40 minute taxi to Charlotte Amalie airport.
5. Line to check bag.
6. 500 person line for U.S. Customs (yes, again).
7.Slow line through TSA check point. Forget TSA Pre-check even if printed on ticket.

4 hours and 15 minutes to travel approximately 40 miles. Fly out of Tortola, not St. Thomas. United airline overbooks and offers $1,000 for volunteers. Not enough takers. I got on but others involuntarily spent the night in St. Thomas.

“Kuralu was great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2014

We had a great day on Kuralu in February '14. Everything was relaxed, organized and very enjoyable. Great snorkeling at Jost Van Dyke and a trip to White Bay. Kuralu wasn't crowded and there was plenty of room for all to enjoy. Captain Gary kept us under sail for the majority of the trip which was a big plus for me. The lunch was great and the drinks were cold. All in all a great day! Highly recommend.

“Voyage Charters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014 via mobile

We chose Voyage for a sail to Jost Van Dyke. We were about 16 passengers with three crew. The boat is pristine and our crew helpful and informative. Our skipper Aaron Turpin provided a great deal of information about the island. We stopped at one beach to snorkel seeing only a few fish and a ray. The final destination was the Soggy Dollar beach which was wide and lovely. The crew provided non stop Painkillers and Rum drinks, so we were a jolly group.
