Frenchman’s offers absolutely beautiful, clean, comfortable cottage/villas with spectacular views. Pool, tennis court, kayaking and beach are a short walk just downhill from the villas. We enjoyed all of these amenities and had them to ourselves much of the time. Snorkeling was fantastic just off the beach of Frenchman’s and we were all delighted to see a wide variety of coral and sea life. We spent much of our time with our heads underwater! During our visit, the current off of the beach was stronger than in other bays on the island, so snorkelers should be able swimmers. The staff was friendly and very helpful arranging day trips and recommending activities. Since we stayed for a week, renting a car was essential in order to explore the island. The only complaint was lack of towels at the pool on some days—which was very minor! If you like quiet time, nature, the Caribbean water and a beautiful place to retreat in the evening, Frenchman’s is a great option.

We had been to Tortola a few times before but this time stayed at Frenchmans. We were not disappointed. It is undoubtly the best place to stay on the island. The villas were in a great position and were really well appointed. A few minutes away was Sopers Hole and we managed a few days of great day sailing from there visiting the other BV Islands. We will return.

My wife and I had an unbelievable time in the British Virgin Islands for our honeymoon. This was made possible by the perfect homebase at Frenchman's. The resort was unbelievable in every way. First, we can't say enough about the main staff we encountered, Michelle and Chris. Throughout our week long stay, they made suggestions, reservations, and gladly helped with anything we asked about. Our arrival to Tortola was delayed because of a cancelled flight, but Chris had everything arranged after hours so that we were able move into our cottage late at night with no issue. Every recommendation they made was perfect. Some of our favorites included dining at Bannanakeet, The Jolly Roger, and Palm's delight and day excursions at Smugglers Cove, the Baths, Jost van Dyke and White Bay. Secondly, the resort itself was unbelievable and lived up to our dreams of a perfect honeymoon. The breakfast every morning was fresh, delicious, and a great way to begin each day. The actual grounds were filled with beautiful plants and flowers, a private beach, and a feeling of luxurious seclusion. Our cottage, Mango, was perfect. The air conditioned bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms, open air living room, full kitchen, and a balcony with an amazing view met our every expectation. Thirdly, the honeymoon package if the way to go, even if you aren't on your honeymoon. We were and it was the perfect arrangement of activity and luxury. The Dove Restaurant, day sail to Norman, car rental (Jimmy), picnic lunch, and couples massage were fantastic. Lastly, we felt Tortola was the perfect place to go on a honeymoon. And the only place you should ever consider staying in the entire BVI is Frenchman's. We had no complaints and felt every aspect of our trip was perfect. We will be back.

My husband and I stayed for a week at Frenchmans for a trip to celebrate his 40th birthday and it was really the perfect spot to do it. The staff, especially Michelle, are as great as everyone here has said--friendly, accomodating, full of useful info and tips, and happy to help.

The cottage was comfortable, with fantastic views and the grounds are just beautiful. We weren't looking for crowds or to meet other people, so the small boutique resort environment of Frenchmans was perfect. It often felt like we had the place to ourselves.

We also really enjoyed Tortola and the day trips Michelle helped us set up--ATVs on Jost Van Dyke and a day sail on Aristocat. Our one mistake was going to the Baths on Virgin Gorda when there were three cruise ships in port. It was a total zoo--we should have gone another time or just stayed holed up in the peace and quiet of Frenchmans!

Upon arriving at the resort after being stranded in the snow of Jan 10th 2011 and missing my flight and losing 2 days in this piece of Heaven on earth. I was greeted with not only the warmth of the sun but with a lady named Michelle that helps run this BEAUTIFUL Resort.. She is the warmest most kindest person I have met in a long time . The whole staff at Frenchmans are wonderful. They made our stay wonderful. My girlfriend and I travel alot and found ourselves very pampered and looked after, checked in on daily..making sure we were great and we felt very safe there, for we are two females that need to relax from our day to day stressful jobs. And at The Frenchmans we totally relaxed. The resort and Island is a great get away. We will return!
