You won't find Biras Creek on the Conde Naste gold list. You won't even find it on Forbes or any of the other top traveler lists and it might make you wonder whether they are worth it. The answer is an outstanding YES!
When you arrive in Tortola, a cab will be waiting to take you the ferry that will shuttle you to the resort. Complementary with a 4 night stay. Don't know the meaning of packing light? Don't worry, once you get to Tortola, they handle everything, you don't have to worry about anything except your hat and sunglasses. The ferry will arrive at the Main dock and Biras Creek where you will be greeted by their front desk staff by name, offerred some wet wash cloths (lemon scented of course), some punch and then wisked away to lunch, dinner or tea (depending on the time of day). Once you finish eating, the front desk staff that has been politely waiting outside, will take you around the resort to show you the amenities, then take you to your room, where your luggage is delivered and waiting. That's your check in. No standing in a cattle line just to give them the same information you already did on the phone. You are already checked in.
Breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are included. Lunch and dinner are scrumptious. The food is extraordinary, even the beach barbeque served 5 days. Each lunch day is different and offers mouth watering chicken, steak, grouper, scallops, shrimp, mahi mahi and all other sorts of seafood off the grill. Dinner is a gastronomical pleasure chest with a la carte menus that others will come in via boat from other resorts just to sample. Breakfast is unimaginative but substantive with hot a la carte items and a continental spread.
The resort is beautiful with everything open air and smelling of fragrant flowers. The staff will greet you by name and bend over backwards to accomodate you. many have been on the property for decades. Guestrooms by the ocean are to die for. Privacy is extraordinary, you'd never know that you weren't alone at the resort until you go to dinner.
Snorkeling trips are scheduled complementary every other day. Hobie cats, ocean kyaks and wind surfs are complementary. Diving is available and they come pick you up at the resort. Also complementary are these boston whaler boats that you can take around to have fun with and go shopping at Leverick bay or gun creek. Nothing like taking a boat out to get some essentials. There is also a Gun Creek ferry that goes frequently.
The only downside is you have to bike everywhere which can get hot in the middle of the day. The front desk will give your lazy bones a ride if you need it on their golf cart.
Overall, this is the best mix of a place where you can relax or be active, enjoy good food and not feel like you are being nickle and dimed for every activity you want to try. They truely make you feel wonderful.
Overall, this is a perfect honeymoon.
