We went to Biras Creek Restaurant last Sunday March 23, 2014. We were a party of six and only one of the three couples had been there previously.

Had it not been for our good manners with new friends we would have sent our food back as it was over cooked, tasteless and over priced!

Two of us had the 'spinach and green apple stuffed pork tenderloin" the pork was very over cooked and hard and had no seasoning. The stuffing was tasteless. The mashed yams were nice but the carrot was raw!?! My husband had the 'seafood crusted mahi mahi' which was also overcooked and the crust had no seafood flavour - it certainly didn't resemble the description on the menu.

Could it be that the food was earlier that day and kept warm under hot lights? Very poor quality and a huge disappointment as Biras Creek has an enviable location.

The staff were ok but stand offish. Following our experience we would neither recommend or return to this restaurant!

Great ptiy...

We had dinner with a group of our friends. The restaurant had come highly recommended. Our experience was such a disappointment. The service was horrible and the food wasn't much better. We asked for the manager who did come to our table but was very unconcerned. If you have this on your to-do list when in the islands, I strongly suggest you choose another dining option.

Over the past 30 years this has always been a little snooty operation, even when we use to dine there. More recently (if you go for drinks during the day) the service is mostly sullen, never friendly. On this trip we stopped by for drinks, and after about 30 minutes of waiting for a bartender to show up, left with no service. The waitresses in the restaurant seemed to care less, and never even acknowleged our presence.

Biras Creek restaurant is located in a gorgeous setting with lots of natural stone overlooking the North Sound in Virgin Gorda, BVI's. To get the best views, the tables around the perimeter facing the water are the best, but they are only set for two people so everyone else can get a view.
Four of us had dinner. Appetizer of tuna was cooked medium to well done. that was the first mistake. It had a good flavor, but missed being great because of over cooking.
The main courses we had...Swordfish was amazing, pork was very good...just a tad under done, New York strip steak...well...skip it. Cut too thin with too much gristly stuff in it. I watched my husband cut the edible parts out of it and he ended up with less than half the steak being edible.
Please keep in mind that we are foodies, my husband a gourmet chef, our guests are professional fishermen (know what fresh fish is)...so we are pretty spoiled and very critical about food.
Don't get me wrong, it was pretty good. On a scale of one to five, it was a solid four including the ambiance.
The four of us agreed that we all liked the Pavillion at Little Dix better.
Biras Creek prix fix dinner was $85 U.S. per head.

This review is for lunch as non-resident guests.

Apparently, Biras Creek is trying to encourage people staying at other resorts to come dine at Biras, so we headed over to see about getting some lunch. Lunch that day was a buffet down on the beach. The place was lovely, and the buffet was quite good. It was Mexican day, so in addition to hot dogs and hamburgers, there were shrimp cooked fajita-style with peppers and onions, rice, sliced beef and chicken, a black bean and corn salad, 2 sizes of tortillas, and various condiments (salsa, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, etc.). Dessert was bite-sized pieces of carrot cake, cookies and coconut macaroons, and iced tea was included. Price per person was $35.

The meal was fine, but when it came time to pay it turns out that we had to wait while somebody went up to the office to ring up the total and come back down. That took a good 40 minutes. When they finally got back one of the front office people (a gingery Canadian) obligingly agreed to take us to the ferry in his golf cart. When we arrived at the dock, we asked what we needed to do to get the ferry (all of the main resorts at that end of Virgin Gorda run complimentary ferries between the most popular sites; some run on schedules, some on request, and some are a mix). He said that we didn't have to do anything, that he would call for the boat. According to the posted schedule, there was a ferry due shortly, but the time came and went. We waited and waited and waited. On our second trip back to the office to ask what was happening the original person said (in effect) 'oops, sorry, didn't get the message to the boat in time and they only stop at the main dock if somebody is waiting; won't be long now'.

We spent about 40 minutes eating a buffet lunch at Biras, another 40 minutes waiting for the bill to be sorted and another 50 minutes waiting for the boat. Take-home for us is that Biras really isn't ready to have non-residents come to eat.
