“Decent food but expensive”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

It is not a surprise that this restaurant is expensive, most of them are expensive on the island. We shared a pizza and salad, and it came to bout $40 including tip which many of the restaurants do......include a 15% tip in the bill!!
Nice ambiance, good service!!

Thank you for your review!!! We really appreciate it! We are sorry you find the food expensive, the fact of being on an island makes everything more expensive although we always try to offer our specials and happy hours!

Come back soon and thanks a lot for your kind review.

“Magical setting”
Reviewed 12 March 2014 via mobile

We arrived around 6:30 to an empty restaurant and I was a little concerned, up until the moment we followed the host out the back door and saw the tables set amidst a hill of huge rocks. Small lanterns on each table and lights strung overhead perfected the setting. Our waitress was very sweet and did a great job and our food came out very quickly. The bruschetta and pasta weren't as seasoned as we prefer but still good. The pizza leans toward the more European style with a handmade, thinner crust which we love. Tiramisu dessert was of course delicious. I was absolutely charmed by the setting and would go again for that and the pizza. The restaurant did, of course, fill up.

“our favorite Virgin Gorda place to dine”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

We have a home in Virgin Gorda and since its opening the Rock Café continues to be our favorite place to dine. We often go for a light dinner of pizza and wine and enjoy the beautiful setting and great service. The pizza is by far the best on the island - in fact the only real pizza on VG. But full course meals are excellent and when our family is visiting this is their first choice as well. Our grandson - now almost 11 years old - asks when he arrives at the airport: "can we go to the Rock for the pasta and the chocolate mousse?" Since we go often the staff have become friends and that adds to the experience. Our only regret - one we have expressed to Dwite and Paola - is that they do not serve lunch. A simple menu of pizza and salads would be a wonderful way to enjoy the spectacular setting in daylight.
Tonight is the last night of our niece's visit and we definitely plan to go to the Rock for dinner.

“Don't Bother”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

I went there with a group of 7 and waited a spectacular 1 hour and 45 minutes to get our food. We were literally 2 minutes away from getting up and leaving. We really enjoyed watching parties arrive after us, getting served, and leaving before our meals ever arrived.

The food was average at best, the price certainly didn't justify it, and the waitress had the gall to point out the place on the bill where the tip should be left in addition to the mandatory 15% service charge. Seriously?

Avoid this place at all costs as it was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my 30 years of traveling.
