Description: With a reputation that far exceeds its modest size, Saba Rock boasts not only a famous over the water lounge bar and restaurant, but also an 8 bedroom hotel, 10 slip marina, gift shop, gardens and sun deck. Saba Rock Restaurant is one of the more respected establishments in the British Virgin Islands, offering both a lounge menu and a dinner menu with a wide selection of seafood (including local conch and lobster in season), salads and grills. The boutique hotel, which is consistently ranked among the top hotels in the BVI, is accessible via a 10 minute ferry ride from Virgin Gorda. Alternatively, you can arrive on your own boat and take a slip in the Marina. We visited Saba twice while docked at Leverick Bay during our bare boat charter earlier this month. Definitely worth it for the relaxed atmosphere, the good drinks and very decent food.

The views over the North Sound as the sun sets are fantastic, as you sit back on the deck with your favorite liquid! Classic BVI scenery!

ps. Tarpon feeding a little tame, particularly is you've been to places like Robbie's in Islamorada, but fun enough for the little ones.

We had dinner here during our BVI sailing charter. The atmosphere is really nice. The restaurant is right on the water with open sides, rattan furniture, ceiling fans, and lots of tropical plants - very island-y. I had the local yellow tail snapper prepared "island-style". It was delicious - spicy and perfectly cooked. Dinner entrees come with a trip to the salad bar. It has a nice, but not huge, number of choices but all were tasty and fresh. Service was great too. The only reason for 4, rather than 5, stars is that several of my dinner companions were not happy with their Anegada lobster. I thought it tasted fine but it was a little tough and difficult to remove from the shell.

If you are here on a sailing charter and spend the night on a Saba Rock Resort mooring, know that you can get 200 gallons of fresh water for free at the marina. Since most places charge 25 cents/gallon, this is a great deal!

Went for happy hour ($3.50 Painkillers) Watched the Tarpon feeding and then had dinner

Good selection - pricey but they have a wonderful salad buffet with the main courses so you don't need a starter. W had steaks, burgers, scallops (small portion) Really nice. 2 of our (older) kids shared a portion of chicken wings which they declared the best food all holiday (a bit depressing given they had eaten lobster!)

Saba Rock is one of our favourite places to stop when sailing around the BVI. Great bar and restaurant. Pretty views from all around and lovely sitting area. Definitely go if you are sailing around the BVI
