Owner description: Virgin Gorda's loveliest beach is a long strand of powdery white coastline lapped by placid waters.

This was the highlight of our day on Virgin Gorda. One of the most beautiful beaches we've visited. There are actually ~3 beaches along the bay and we had an entire 'beach' to ourselves. The water was perfect and there was plenty of reef around form snorkeling. There are a few built-in shade spots (wooden umbrellas) perched up on the bluff above the beach, which was a nice find. Very easy to get to and a short walk to your own piece of the beach. One word of caution, we were there in the early afternoon and there was not much shade to hide from the hot afternoon sun. Have plenty of sunscreen on hand if you are there after lunch.

Snorkeling spot with abundance of sea life in fairly shallow waters. The beach does not offer a lot of protection from the sun. Must pay attention to avoid sunburn. Best time to visit are early morning of late afternoon. Just another VG natural beauty...

We visited Virgin Gorda in late May 2014 and found ourselves at Savannah Bay during most days. The beach is rather long and has find white powdery sand. The ocean bottom is a mix of sand and coral, which allows for both swimming and snorkeling. You can drive to the beach and it's easy to find. Most days we were one of only a few other couples on the entire stretch of beach, and there were occasional sailboats anchored just offshore enjoying this great beach.

This beach is definitely one of the best beaches for anyone wanting to swim, snorkel, walk the beach or just relax in the shade. We just returned from 10 days on the island and spent the last 4 days driving to this beach. Our family even had a 3 month old baby so we took a few sheets to tie up to block the occasional sand blowing but it's so nice here, clean and crystal clear waters. When the tide is out you can stand up and see fish on the rocks but there is a very beautiful reef that runs near the shore about 20' at the deepest parts. For being so close to land we were amazed at how well this reef was still in tact compared to others. There are huts but they are in need of major repair so we couldn't really use them as they didn't provide total shade. You can grill or just take your packed cooler, could literally spend the entire day here and not get tired of looking at the beautiful colors of the water and the boats that run by!

Savannah Bay is one of those places on Virgin Gorda that isn't talked about much (overshadowed by the more popular Baths/Devils Bay/Spring Bay area in the south). Most tourists probably don't even know it exists if you ask me. When I got there, there was absolutely no one there. Just me and the ocean and the fish. Fish EVERYWHERE! Everywhere. Amazing place to snorkel and see unique species of all kinds. You come here, and I guarantee it is the closest thing to heaven on earth. Just bring your snorkel and fins. You don't even need your bathing suit! Who cares??? Nobody else is here anyway! Hey, I didn't wear one. This place is awesome :)
