If you want great food that is fresh made and the type enjoyed by Virgin Gorda's residents go to Coconut Junction. The snapper is delicious, pork is fabulous, rice and beans awesome, plantains superb. It's not luxury dining but your taste buds and belly will love it.

We are the type of couple (and we we're honeymooners here) who like to really eat the local food and the food that residents eat. We hate nothing more than a bad plate of food that's over priced just because you're traveling and there's small choices and options.

Angie at Coconut Junction serves 3 +/- main choices at lunch and dinner, as well as a plethora of true Caribbean flavored sides. The Mac n cheese casserole, the johnny cakes, the rice and lentils...mmmm. She changes them all up everyday and provided exactly what we were looking for. Also, you know it's good when the residents of the town, outside the resort, are there. We even saw people in hotel uniforms coming for dinner on Friday night!

Now, if you're afraid of small and homey, check out one of those other places listed on here. But, if you want to skip the sticker shock and have a meal like THE best meals we ate when there, GO.

Meals eaten: pork chops, jerk chicken, wings, snapper steaks, pig tail (husband is a little more Anthony Bourdain than I...) 2 people, Lunch cost: $24 wings, snapper and pork chop shared, dinner w/ 6 drinks, $64

AND! IT was some of the best food we ate the whole week.
