Just recently spent a week at the BItter End and can't wait to go back. Yes, it is a little difficult to get to, but that makes it even more special. Arriving by ferry is a great experience and you're welcomed by a staff member right at the dock. We went during the ProAm Regatta week and what they say is so true: you can do as much as you want or as little as you want. There are plenty of activities for those so inclined, but you can also just sit back, relax and do nothing if that's your thing. For us, it was a great combination of both. The staff is warm, friendly and always willing to help. While we climbed 87 steps to get to our room, the view and privacy were wonderful and it helped burn a few calories after the great meals! All-in-all a great place! We've been blessed to have had the opportunity to travel frequently and the BEYC is on the "return to" list for sure!

My husband, a lifelong sailor, had eyed this resort for years, but the price seemed far beyond our reach. I also think he worried that there wouldn't be as much for me to do since my interests encompass more than just sailing (whereas he's obsessed). However, we decided that, for our 20th wedding anniversary, we'd go to The Bitter End, not just because the reviews were so glowing, but because the resort was in the general vicinity of our honeymoon in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was absolutely worth every penny and every hour of travel. We loved the trip so much that we're heading back with our three children for spring break. The Bitter End was like nothing I've ever seen. Relaxing and comfortable accommodations, delicious food, incredible service, spectacular setting, and plenty to do besides sailing. We took a tour of the Baths, which are stunning boulder formations that leave you in awe over the power of nature. We also snorkled. Relaxed on the sand. Took plenty of naps in the hammock. Talked non-stop (the spotty internet service was, at first, a challenge. However, it became a wonderful reprieve from technology). When we go back with the kids, we'll rent a runabout to explore the area, use the pool, hike the island, and take advantage of the pub and games. We had such an idyllic, relaxing week just to ourselves (the resort was relatively quiet that week) and excited to return during a more active season, just to see what the difference is like. Cannot wait to return!

We've just got back from BEYC after having 8 nights there with a group of friends. It's 100% the best holiday we've had, and lovely climate (dodging two hurricanes at the end of hurricane season), great SUPER friendly staff in a really well run 'resort'. We went on one of their quieter weeks, which added to the experience for us, the food was really great, the sailing equipment isn't as good as at a dedicated sailing beach club, but is perfect for what the BEYC is all about. We only went to the pool once as the sea was on our doorstep and much nicer way to play in the water. We rented a sport fishing boat and set new records for Mahi-Mahi and on a 2nd trip out managed to snag some huge Wahoo, all brought back to the restaurant and eaten for lunch - 45mins from sea to the table! and on the BBQ in the evening. Don't worry about the (slight) slog to get there especially from Europe - arriving in North Sound is the reward for the (slight) struggle. We'll be back 100% for sure

Room Tip: rooms around 12North would be a good choice though to be fair they are all well located on this fair...

It is not easy to get to the Bitter End Yacht Club, but the effort is more than worthwhile. My husband and I spent 7 days in an open air cottage listening to the surf crash over the reef.
We loved all of the activities which included, sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding. The equipment was top notch. The staff is friendly and helpful. I loved the payment plan. Just give your room number (all the activities and food was included). We noticed many all generation families having a great time. This was an all time super vacation.

Room Tip: Some of the cottages are a long walk to the dining room and there are quite a few stairs to navigate...

Just returned from a week at Bitter End with my three boys, 9, 8, and 6. We had a fantastic time and will return. Why we liked it:
1. It has a very friendly, family run (vice corporate) feel. The entire staff was friendly and ready to help us have a good time in any way they could.
2. Location is beautiful, water is blue and clear, hills, flowers, palm trees, very nice.
3. Food is abundant and excellent. Winstons pasteries and baked goods are incredible.
4. Water sports - Bitter End is a sailing resort with innumerable sailing options, from large mono-hulls to small hobies and sunfish and everything in between. And they are all there just to take advantage of any time you want. They also have kayaking, paddle boarding, wind surfing, and snorking right there on site any time.
5. Activities - There are planned, fun, and interesting on site and off site activities every day for the entire family. You can do them all or do none of them and just sit by the pool all day.

We loved it and will go back.

Have stayed here a couple of times now, and visited on many more, while chartering in the BVIs. The location is absolutely fantastic, although with that comes a fairly long travel time from the UK - flight to Antigua, local flight to Tortola, ferry to Bitter End. The last time we went, we were worried the flight delay would mean we missed the ferry, but it waited for us.

The rooms are a bit 'rustic' but this is perfectly in keeping with the surroundings, and all the facilities are there. Bed was very comfy, and we were glad we'd booked a room with air conditioning. We couldn't pick up the free wi-fi from our room, but it was fine (but slow) in the bar and the pub.

Food is plentiful, and of good quality. Breakfast and lunch are both huge buffets, with lots of choices, including fresh fruit and salads. This next point wouldn't matter to an occasional visitor, but I don't think the menu has changed in all the years we have been visiting, which can make it somewhat predictable. We usually try and get an evening on Saba Rock as well - they have a water taxi that will pick up from Bitter End. The food in the pub makes a welcome change, and the pizzas are good. Service is good everywhere.

There is so much to do, you're spoilt for choice - dinghy sailing, catamarans, SUPs, windsurfing, snorkelling, diving to name just a few. The dive team, Ben and Kay at Sunchaser, are awesome - so enthusiastic. I did my PADI referral with them, and enjoyed some great dives. The snorkelling trips are worth going on too - whether just a couple of hours on the Ponce de Leon, or a half day on the catamaran, Paranda, both are a great opportunity to see the huge variety of marine life on the local reefs.

All in all, a great holiday destination, and one which we're sure to visit again, you can't help but fall in love with the place......

My husband and I were on an day excursion to explore Virgin Gorda and ended up at the Bitter End Yatch Club. Sabna did my 1 hour deep tissue massage and her husband gave my husband a 25 minute back massage. Incredible. We felt so much better after our services. Pain free. I can only give a review about the spa. We didn't stay at the resort or sample the food, but the resort looks lovely. It was off season, so it was not busy.
