“Awesome place for water active people”
Reviewed 24 January 2014

We just did our fifth visit the the Bitter End Yacht Club with our three children ages 13-20. You can get a better location for a resort. Our favorite aspect about the resort is the incredible water sports and activities that are included if you stay for there for seven nights. Every day we are either sailing, scuba diving or doing an boat excursion to another beautiful destinations in the BVIs. The sailing staff and the scuba diver staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and very clean. We love how the suites blend in with the surroundings with your own outside decks and hammocks. The resort is very comfortable and casual - a bit rustic. The food is OK but it is always fresh and a good selection. If you are a sailor or boating type of person who think you are in heaven! By husband loves to watch all the boat activity in the harbor.

Room Tip: We prefer the suites located across from Saba rock since this area of the resort gets consistent win...

The main selling points are for this hotel is that it is water themed and it friendly for children based families. The hotel resort is provides as much activities as possible so you can as much as you want or little. On the Monday they have a cocktail evening which gives you a chance to meet up with old friends or meet new friends. The hotel has its own fleet of boats which you can charter out for a day or for a couple of days and do your own thing. The staff and th hotel are amazing and would love to go back.... fingers crossed i win the lottery

If you are looking for paradise the Bitter End Yacht Club is it! The resort is amazing, with beautiful beaches and snorkeling, truly the most beautfiul place I have ever been! There is so much to do, renting sailboats, tours and wonderful dining options. We ate at the resort and also enjoyed the nightly movies they showed for kid's and they even provide free popcorn! The service is exceptional, and the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and accomodate anything you need. Wonderful "Must stop" when sailing or visiting the BVI!

This was one of the many things that we saw as a must-do in the BVI. It was pretty busy but there were plenty of mooring balls so that wasn't an issue. We didn't stay in the rooms as we slept on the yacht, but we did have lunch, dinner, shopped, went to the beach and pool. It's not the cheapest place to moor up in the BVI, but it's certainly worth it. The food was excellent, good atmosphere in the Crawl Pub and all of the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The views are excellent from the Grill and you immediately feel relaxed. Although we didn't participate there are a lot of water sports activities to choose from here - you need to be aware of this when you approach either the marina or moorings as people are learning to sail dinghy's, canoe, kite surf etc and a lot of them don't have much control over where they're going. The views from the resort are gorgeous, but then that's no so unique in the BVI ; )

We made an advance reservation for a slip at the BEYC Marina. We stayed 3 nights in a slip during a week long sailboat charter. The service was excellent and the setting is gorgeous! Bitter End Yacht Club is a beautiful resort with lots of sailing activities, great dining options, and excellent customer service! We loved walking around the lushly landscaped resort. The Quarterdeck Club had casual food on an outdoor deck and the thin crust pizza was delicious. The Friday night seafood buffet in the main restaurant was outstanding and a good value. We will definitely return and next time plan to stay for a week at the resort instead of on a sailboat docked in the marina. Vera who works at the marina provided excellent customer service!

My husband and I traveled here over Thanksgiving. It was our first trip to the Virgin Islands or anywhere in the eastern Caribbean for that matter. Bitter End had everything we were looking for - relaxation, beautiful tropical locale, activities for when we didn't want to relax, and all-inclusive meals so we didn't have to stress out about where to eat. We were very happy with Bitter End, it exceeded our expectations. The only thing we would change is how we got there - United from Houston to San Juan, Seaborne from San Juan to Tortola, and an hour-long ferry from from Tortola to BEYC. We met some other guests that took a direct flight to St. Thomas and from there chartered a sea plane directly to BEYC. We would definitely like to return next summer with our teenage kids as we think they would love all the water sports BEYC has to offer. We took the day-long excursions to The Baths and to Anegada and also a shorter snorkeling excursion - all included in our 7-day Admiral's Package - highly recommended as you don't have to worry about how much you're spending once you get there. On the day we went to Anegada, it turned out to be very windy there and the surf was really up so we did not snorkel but just hung out at the beach bar. We also took the sailing class and a private sailing lesson on a Hobie Cat - one lesson and we were good to go on our own out in the sound - so much fun! That is another great thing about BEYC - their fleet of boats. We were able to take out a Boston Whaler and a Hobie Cat sailboat whenever we wanted. The entire staff at the water sports desk were extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. We also made sure to visit the pool bar once a day for the drink of the day - the bartender there is very friendly. Our beachfront cottage was perfect and we felt really lucky to be so close to the main area of the resort after seeing some of the rooms perched high up in the hills. Our cottage had A/C which we used at night. The wraparound porch was nice to sit out on and read a book. We enjoyed dining at the resort every day. For breakfast they had an omelet bar and a buffet with lots of fresh fruit or you could order a la carte. We liked to eat lunch at the pool bar or the pub. The dinner menu was different every night and the food was excellent. Desserts were delicious, especially the key lime pie!

Room Tip: We were in a premium beachfront cottage - this is the way to go!

The Bitter End was a very nice and relaxing vacation. I also thought their Sailing/Watersports School was excellent, Chris, Nick, Ross and the team were great! The food was delicious and I loved breakfast with Chef Harry. The rooms were fine and the beach was so beautiful and relaxing. I enjoyed the Bitter End and am looking forward to hopefully going there again soon.
