“Used to be great, but is now poorly maintained and animals are neglected”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

The caves are under new management and are a horrible experience! The animals are neglected and malnourished, causing us to file complaints with the Cayman authorities. The caves are not well maintained and only a fraction of the actual caves are even accessible any more. The people working there clearly don't care about the deplorable conditions there.

The previous owner of the caves ran a great operation with healthy animals. It appears that the new owners just don't care about it at all.

“Waste of time”

There is nothing to see here. Animals kept in pathetic conditions. The cave is a water hole. Don't waste your time

“Neat place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2014

Fun place to visit. Cool to see where pirates hid and stashed their booty. Neat to walk where the pirates actually walked.

“Under Construction”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2013

We visited the pirate caves and we were not overly impressed. It appears that the business recently changed ownership/management. They are in the process of updating the property, but they still have a long way to go. They boast a self-guided tour that lasts 2 1/2 hours, we blew threw it in about 20 minutes. It looks like there used to be labels on the nature trail, but they are all missing. I think they should wait until they have time to get more work done.

“Lame.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013 via mobile

There isn't anything here to see. The "attraction" is a stairwell that leads down 10 feet to a cave that's about 60ft long, but open to the sky (so, really more of a ravine). It supposedly goes all the way to the ocean, but you have to crawl on your belly in the dark to get there. No thanks. There are live bats at the back end of the cave. Took us all of 5 minutes to explore. My 7 year old boy thought it was cool, but the cave and zoo have seen better days.
