“Slow and Easy Escape”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Seven Mile Beach is fun, but more of a crowded "big beach" experience. Rum Point is away from the crowds and can be very relaxing and low key to unwind and have fun. It is a bit pricey as everything is in the Caymans, but having a fun drink and lunch at Rum Point is well worth it.

If possible, check the cruise ship schedule and try to plan around the best day/time to avoid some of the cruise ship rush, since even Rum Point can get crowded.

“Paradise...”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Needed a break from the hotel on 7 Mile Beach so we rented a car, easily and inexpensive. Drove up to the Point. We stopped at the Botanical Gardens and had a lovely visit. Continued up to the Point. Stopped roadside and bought some beautiful conch shells for $5 a piece.

When we reached the Point we were greeted by friendly shop keepers and told where to park. Enjoyed a beautiful beach with chairs and tables, food, drinks, bonefish, barracudas, and lion fish. Showers to rinse at the end of the day and quick ride back.

Make the trip !

“Paradise”

This beach is a slice of paradise....although it was a little crowded when we first arrived on our cruise excursion, the crowd shortly thinned out and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. The water is gorgeous, there are trees for shade, which you don't find on Seven Mile Beach and the snorkeling is decent if you go around the rocks. Just wish it were easier to access.

“A must see if you're here for atleast a few days”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

We were here for two weeks so spent a day driving to Rum Point. It's about an hour from 7 mile so plan on a day. Gorgeous drive through local areas not disturbed by tourism. Rum Point was fun and seemed like really living the island life. Nice little beach. Food wasn't great, but it was as you'd probably expect from a little shack on the beach.

“for the heck of it”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

loved the hammocks. people are friendly, and we ended up with lunch there--daily catch, and it was great. we had our first rum cake there as well.

This is a fun and funky area of the island, which is full of photo opps as well.
