Owner description: Secluded beach on northern Grand Cayman.

We took a driving tour of the island (ensure your driver is bold, comfortable driving on the left side of the road and has a good grasp of roundabouts) In any case, we made our way to Kaibo Beach (3 stars for restaurant there.... horrible service) and then to Rum Point. The amazing thing about all beaches on Cayman is that they are FREE. Free access everywhere! Rum Point also had countless beach chairs and FREE showers. The beach was nice. Snorkeling was not good unless you made the effort to walk off to the right near some condos where there is a sign labeling it a marine park. Entering there is trickier, but worth it. We saw barracuda, beautiful purple coral and tons of shrimp.

We took the drive out here and were so glad we did. We arrived early so had our pick of chairs and were able to see a barracuda and stingray off the dock before swimming. The water was clear and we enjoyed the water sports that were available. Food prices were typical for the island, drinks were a little pricey but STRONG so felt like you got your moneys worth.

Drove out to Rum Point after hearing about how amazing it was. What a waste of time. It's a tiny tourist trap, no outside food allowed so that you have to buy their overpriced bar food. Small, murky beach, filled with drunks and their trash left everywhere. Every car in the lot had rental tags, I guess the locals know better than to come here. Left after an hour to drive back to Seven Mile Beach.

On private land, it was situated right on the ocean and cutesy. Limited water front but the water sport rentals were available. Rent the water trike and had a blast although it was very hard! Whole scenery was cute and more lake like than ocean. Food for sale but didn't buy anything. 35 minute relatively easy drive from seven mile beach which was scenic and cute stops (flip flop tree!!!).

What can I say? Everything at Rum Point was great. The facilities, the environment overall - and even the food and shop.
We left from this site to go to stingray city and snorkeling. The trip was a fabulous experience overall!
