“Another fantastic stay!”
Reviewed 28 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We have visited this excellent cottage many times and each time we have found it to be superbly equipped and very clean. The time of year meant that it was quite cold on arrival, but there were plenty of heaters provided and it soon warmed up! Having the luxury of a bath and a shower was a welcome advantage and there was always lots of hot water!
We had a meal at The Victoria hotel a couple of miles away which was excellent value and we visited Betws y coed and the woodland roller coaster attraction just up the road, which is well worth a visit.
Snowdonia is a beautiful part of the world with many new attractions being added each year and the cottage provides an excellent base from which to explore.

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed 1 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Another great holiday at Ty Uchaf. A great cottage in a great location. The cottage is clean and fantastically equipped. A great family kitchen if you want to cook and all sit down and catch up on your day out. WIFI almost mandatory now so you can check your emails etc. The outhouse is great as it has a washing machine and tumble dryer if needed. Great sized bedrooms, and a fantastic big bathroom, with a bath and walk in shower. The Spar shop down the road has an award winning butchers inside, fantastic Beef, Salt Marsh Lamb, burgers etc. Harlech now has a fantastic Cheese shop & Bakers a real foodie destination. Back to the cottage a fantastic cottage , well equipped, clean, comfortable and fantastic for discovering the local area. We will be booking again. A great credit to the owner in providing such a great place to enjoy your holiday. 5* cottage in a 5* location

“Great Cottage with excellent facilities for the price”
Reviewed 28 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The cottage is in an ideal location to explore North Wales. Luckily we went when the weather was good so enjoyed several days on the superb beaches all within a very short drive (this could be a walk for those without young children!). The cottage itself has everything needed for a self-catering holiday and a bit more. The kitchen was well equipped and the out-house was great for storing beach stuff and also had a washing machine & dryer.

In the evening, the outside area is a real sun-trap and enjoys a lot of the evening sun. With it being out of the wind, it was a lovely spot to eat outside after a day at the beach.

All in all, we would have no hesitation booking the cottage again and hope to revisit again next year.

“Another relaxing stay at a very well equipped and cosy cottage”
Reviewed 15 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This was our second stay at the cottage and it was as comfortable and spotless as our first visit. Its location is perfect for fantastic beaches at Barmouth and Harlech and is a ten minute walk to the Cambrian coast train( a request stop). It is about 90 mins from Llandudno and Anglesey, both of which are well worth getting up early for! Caernarfon is also worth travelling to.The cottage is cosy, well equipped and the good sized fridge and freezer helps when the family come too! There are 2 shops very close to the cottage, but try to use the Spar if you are buying several items as they tended to be cheaper! Loved being able to sit outside in the courtyard garden.

“Lovely Cottage in a great area and very well stocked”

Well what can i say, we have a lovely stay at Ty Uchaf. I travelled with my wife, father-in-law and two year old son.
The location is great, very close to loads of great places to visit - i would highly recommend Barmount Beach (on a nice day), Fairbourne Miniature Railway as well as the Purple Moose Brewery - all are within half an hour from the cottage.
The Cottage itself is very well maintained, and is incredibly well stocked, the additional benefit of a washing machine and tumble dryer came in incredibly useful, especially with DS. The kitchen is very clean and has a wide variety of utensils and pans available - although oddly enough no tongs (this was not an issue)!
Bob made us feel very well prepared with his welcome pack containing details of both the cottage and the surrounding area including places to eat (one of which we tried and loved - Cadwgan). The nearest supermarkets we could find was in Porthmadog, about half an hour away - there was an Aldi, Tesco and Lidl amongst others i'm sure.
The WiFi was also a life saver as mobile signal was patchy, but we were able to make a call in the bedrooms and the courtyard garden as well.
All in all i would recommend (and indeed have done so) this cottage to friends and family, and we sincerely hope to stay here again when DS is older to use as a base for more serious walking/climbing.
Thank you so much!!
