“Staff seem to think that customers should be left waiting around”
Reviewed 15 September 2011

I have been going to this restaurant for several years. The staff used to be really attentive an interested in ensuring customers were really satisfied. I have recently taken 3 different sets of important clients and have had several problems. One client was seriously overcharged but did not realise till the next day and when he raised it he was treated very badly - it left a bitter taste, the next two occasions my clients found the service difficult, bossy and slow. The final straw was when we visited for a quiet meal and were just left waiting for 5 minutes whilst the staff busied themselves and pretty much couldnt be bothered to take us to a table but thought that writing stuff down or entering stuff into the billing computer was more important. When I complained the impression I got was that it was considered my complaint was invalid and the face of the staff memeber was defensive and his manner quite aggressive. The food and wine there has always been good but the service means I will not go again. Shame for them as I often took clients. Perhaps they think they are too important now to worry about really genuine customer service and perhaps it is only a few of the staff not all of them.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we are happy that you do too. We are terribly sorry for your experience and that you were left waiting. Given our small restaurant, we frequently have to direct our guests to the bar first, while we await the best time to seat them in the dining room depending on how busy we are with the staff that we have. Our staff is always looking out for the best interest of our guests so it deeply saddens us to hear of this. We hope you give The Brasserie another chance.

“One of my Favorite Meals in Grand Cayman”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

Tried to go earlier in our vacation but they were closed for the month of Aug. Thankfully we were leaving Sept 2, so had a chance to visit on our last night.

It's a bit out of the way if you're staying on Seven Mile, but worth the trip. We went on a Thurs evening and they had a great little band that was entertaining - especially for my kids!

There were a couple of fumbles on the evening that we went: 1) Were told that they had a special fish, but when we ordered it - they didn't have any and 2) Ordered the fondue and again was told they didn't have any. My gripe with this is that they just came off of vacation a re-opening after a month. You would think they would stock the kitchen before they re-opened....we were eating dinner at 6pm, so there is no way they could have run out!

Once we got past that, we had a great meal built on appetizers...our own little tapas meal. The chicken livers, Prosciutto & Manchego flatbread, Argentinean BBQ, and grilled cheese brie were outstanding.

The biggest disappointment was the open face kobe burger...it sounded great, but it didn't live up to the description. Basically, it was a huge slab of ground beef with little (or no) seasoning and the toppings were just bland. They definitely need to work on the size and flavor profile for this one because it was no where near the quality of our apps.

Despite the fumbles, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and our many appetizers!

“The Brasserie is a welcome surprise for Georgetown; fantastic!”
Reviewed 13 September 2011

We had lunch at the Brasserie with clients and it was extraordinary! Locally caught fish and vegetables, decent portions, great service, and comfortable atmosphere. I cannot wait to return to the Brasserie for dinner and wine.

“One of the best in Cayman”
Reviewed 26 August 2011

I think people often forget about this restaurant because of the location, however I personally think that this restaurant is one of the best options for those looking for good food, not a turistic place. Nice atmosphere, great service and good selection of wine. Female server could be less intrusive, I think is cultural, nothing wrong but some people don't like being interrupted all the time.
Thank you for the great dinner.

“Sublime...”
Reviewed 1 July 2011

The Brasserie is a firm favourite locally and never disappoints. Yesterday was no exception. A delicious, perfectly chilled Yellow Fin Tuna tartare accompanied by a glass of Veuve... just perfect. The service was charming and you can't help but relax in the restaurants sophisticated but understated ambience. Locally caught Red Snapper is a great special - if you see it on the menu - try it!

If you're visiting the island, The Brasserie is a must - truly some of the best food I have tasted anywhere.
