“3.5 (Excellent location on the ocean - food good but expensive)”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Refurbished beautifully after the fire. A lovely place to go for a romantic meal. Quiet ambiance and if you get lobster or seafood you really can't go wrong. Sure the prices are a bit expensive - however, for that one or two night time on vacation where you feel like having the ambiance of the ocean and a quiet meal with your significant other - you really can't go wrong. I wish they had half points as I would give a 3.5 (not a solid 4 but certainly above a solid 3 also). Can be a bit hard to miss on the road when its dark outside - as it is small and in a little enclave that is dark without much streetlight.

I would NOT recommend coming with children - this isn't really a place to take your rug rats (no matter how charming you deem them to be). It's more of a low key, adult ambiance that isn't conducive to others ADD hyperactive kids....its a place where adult vacationers go for a nice meal out. Save the kid stuff for 7 Mile Beach Area (not really much to do for family at this place)

“Overall ok experience, easy parking.”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

The catch of the day, which they have a few to choose from was delicious, the sides were not that good. We came with two children ages 4 and 6 and they had a kids menu that worked for them, chicken fingers and Alfredo noodles. Very expensive like most other restaurants on the island; can be upwards of 100usd per person.

“Not Worth the Money”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

Like every restaurant on the Island this one was very pricy, but there was nothing special about the food. We sat outside on the patio, it was very nice watching the sun set over the water, but go dark quickly and was hard to see the menu in the limited light. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. As mentioned the food was expensive. We ordered a $34 CI bottle of wine, escargot appetizer, and two entrees and with tip it came to $140 CI. Food was not bad but nothing that stood out from other seafood restaurants in the area.

“lovely terrace and seaview”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

After coming to Grand Cayman for many years, I thought it time to try the Lobster Pot restaurant as after suffering fire damage it had been refurbished and have a lovely new terrace. The entrance to the restaurant is not very obvious or inviting being directly on the roadside. The welcome from the staff was warm and enthusiastic. Our table on the terrace was directly above the sea where we could watch the Tarpon swimming below. The service was pleasant and prompt. We started with Conch fritters, which I would rate as amongst the tastiest I have tried on the Island. The marinated conch was pleasant, but I found the marinade a little too thick and tomato flavoured. Our main course the Cayman trio, which my friend and I shared with a further $5 charge was plentiful for two. Blackened grilled, lobster tail, Mahi Mahi and a few prawns served with rice, plantains and grilled vegetables. The lobster and fish were cooked nicely, but the vegetables were so undercooked to be inedible. All in all a pleasant evening in attractive surroundings with good service, average food and fairly steep prices.

“Good food, very expensive”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

Maybe the shock of how expensive Cayman is hadn't really set in yet, since this was the first restaurant we went to, but it would be very easy to blow a lot of money here. With just two entrees and two cocktails, my boyfriend and I spent over $100. I had the seafood risotto, which was tasty but just a big bowl of risotto, so a bit repetitive after a while. Service was good, although there were a couple of "snooty" moments -- No reservation? No, the place is half empty... No appetizer? No we'll just get entrees. It was nice to sit outside in the breeze, and the food was good, but I probably wouldn't go back.
