We booked this through Carnival Cruise and my family had a blast. The excursion only took a couple of house so we had plenty of time to do some more exploring on Grand Cayman.

The guide did a great job of teaching us about the Sting Rays and making some skittish members feel comfortable in the water with the Sting Rays. They staff on this boat really provide a great experiance and I felt their rates were very resonable. I highly reccomend this excursion.

I found this as a trip excursion for my Carnival Cruise. I am so happy we did this tour to the sandbar to swim with stingrays. The boat was very comfortable; you have the option to ride on the lower level in the shade or the deck on the second level to get some sun. The staff were courteous and provided instructions to small groups of people at one time so we could hear (due to the wind/boat engine). Once we arrived at the sandbar, we were in the water in less than five minutes. You have access to a snorkel set and life jackets. In the water, the staff gave information about the stingrays, allowed us to feed them with squid, and we got to touch/hold/kiss the stingrays. I would do this again and have made a video about the experience. Not sure the link will work on this site...: http://vimeo.com/98806012

After boarding the open-air bus/boat, we took a short tour along the harbor coast before turning down the ramp into the water. It was a unique experience and included interesting commentary by the tour guide on various sites and the history of the island and the things we were seeing. It was a fun excursion that was unique to any we have ever taken. The time at the beach was a little short – maybe 45 minutes – so we chose to not get in the water. The walk along the beach was really beautiful and relaxing.

There have been reviews that the tour did not include enough time to snorkel. That was a surprise to us because we did not remember any comments about snorkeling. We looked back at the excursion description and could not find any reference that we would have the opportunity to snorkel. We decided that the tour company must have dropped that activity from the excursion. Sure enough, there was no snorkeling on our excursion.

There is a set of steps (around five) that one must climb that is attached to the side of the bus. These steps are steep and not attached to the ground. If a person has a problem with their balance, they may not want to take this excursion.

I absolutely loved our trip to Stringray city! The tour guides were extremely informative, friendly & you can tell they love what they do and especially love and care for the stingrays! Not only did I get to interact with free stingrays but I learned a lot about them. Truly something I will always remember and I would definitely go back! Thanks for having us! :)

My husband, 11 year old daughter and myself agreed that we all wanted to try swimming with stingrays on this trip. We arrived on the Carnival Paradise at the pier. We tendered in to port and waited about 20 minutes or so, before being able to start the excursion. Our guide, Mikey, led us out of the waiting area to a parking lot just outside the gate, where our trolley busses were waiting. We took a short 10 minute ride through the island and arrived at the marina. Our large yellow boat was docked and ready for us to board immediately. I was very pleased with the boat. There is small bathroom on board, a bar, tables and chairs in the enclosed area. All of the windows were open during the ride out to the sandbar, so the breeze was great. The boat also has an open deck on top, as well as a large staircase on the back for very easy entry/exit into the water.

When we arrived at the sandbar and got into the water, Mikey and the crew did a very informative presentation to teach everyone about the stingrays. This was able to ease the fears that most people have due to the famous incident with Steve Irwin. They brought the rays around for everyone who wanted to touch or hold them, before releasing us to swim freely. The first hour was the best because there were only 2 other small boats nearby. Once the morning advanced, more and more boats arrived and the area became very crowded. My entire family agreed that this was the best excursion we've been on and it was voted to be everyone's most memorable event during this trip. Mikey and the crew were awesome! Also, when you're coming back into the marina on the boat, look for the large iguanas perched on the dock :)
