Description: The George Town Yacht Club (GTYC) is located on the waterfront at The Barcadere Marina, Grand Cayman. Conveniently located next to the airport, with a FREE shuttle running every 15 minutes, it is a great place to spend time waiting for a flight. It is accessible by land or sea, with plenty of parking for your car or boat, and is the perfect place to relax after a day out on the water, unwind after a day in the office, share your fish stories, or simply hang out with good friends. The menu is appealing to all tastes with an emphasis on local seafood, from conch ceviche to our daily fresh catch, and our famous flame grilled dishes served with your choice of sides. Of course, lunchtime favourites such as burgers and wings are offered or, for those with a lighter palate, the salads are outstanding.GTYC is also an ideal place to host parties, functions and events, either poolside or inside. The private clubhouse and scenic balcony are available to individuals, companies, service clubs and other organizations, to host fishing tournaments, birthday, Christmas and New Years Eve parties, wedding receptions, business meetings, seminars, charitable and cultural events or any other casual, or formal, function.

one of those were you think hey that's a cool place, good food, great staff, great fit out and setting but part of you doesn't want too many to know about it. It's not easy to open up in Cayman and get it right in your first weeks so this is a real credit to all concerned. def our new arrivals venue with guests right by the airport. curry could be more curried rather than holding back in case americans get overwhelmed but it was tasty. pulled pork was great and the tuna and the ceviches. kids loved the pool.

“Great food, great atmosphere, good price!!”

Only a few minutes from the airport for those who are arriving or leaving, or even a chilled out day off spent by the pool or happy hour drinks after work the newly opened Yacht Club has quickly made a name for itself as the place to be in George Town.

The menu is very reasonable with a wide selection of options including daily specials, I think I saw sushi as an option the other day with fresh local catch, this place rocks and despite the teething troubles that many new restaurants encounter the Yacht Club is proving to rise above the rest and show them how it should be done!!

I recommend anyone to go there for lunch / dinner, use the pool and relax - its a great venue and one thats gonna become a favourite with residents / locals and visitors, keep up the good work :-)

“New Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2013 via mobile

First visit was lunch to celebrate a colleague's success. Very impressed with the meals, ambience, decor, location everything!
Conch fritters and coconut shrimp were all very tasty appetizers whilst the curried chicken and ox-tail shepherd's pie got rave reviews! Cool North Sound breeze made me feel for a hammock afterward but unfortunately had to return to work!
Prices were pretty reasonable however the service does need to pick up the pace a bit. Should be a hit with the after work Friday crowd.
Looks like a great club house for the boating community with a pool, marina, shop, outdoor eating areas, etc.
Will definitely be back!

“Best New Reasturant”

GTYC is a very unique restaurant! The food is like nothing else on the island! The fried oysters are a must try! The cost is very reasonable for the quality of the food and atmosphere! Great pool area to relax and have a drink! Very close to the airport so it's great if your super early for your flight or if your just arriving and need a drink! I was totally impressed that they have only been open a few weeks! A must visit for sure!

“Water front breezy, wonderful view of Marina and the North Sound. Kid friendly pool. Poor service but still recommended.”

Perfect location for my work and for a wonderful lunch after picking guests up at the airport when they arrive; or after they have checked in early at the airport and want a final nice lunch and drink before they leave our island paradise.
Food is good value, but they need to have more variety and choices of items which are not deep fried. Fresh fish selections have all been good.
Their Oxtail Shepherds Pie is a nice twist on a traditional pub food.
They just opened in Feb 2013 but they were open for more than 2 weeks the last time I was there so there is no longer any valid excuses for the slow service. They are not prepared for how quickly they have become local favourite.
The breezes of the North Sound, the view, the location and the great lunches will keep me coming back.
I hope they do not accept the currently slow service in the evenings as "good enough". as that would eventually drive me away.
