“Customer service”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

It is with great pleasure I write this next comment! We were on a hunt for the governors reserve dark rum! My brother in law had been here this past February ,and wanted us to bring back a couple of bottles , as we were on a different excursion from the cruise ship, our time was very limited and we were in search of this rum, unable to find it in any of the stores close by, a store clerk,( or owner) of the rum store outside the cruise port, made a phone call to see if the rum we were trying to locate ,could be delivered. Without hesitation the owner,Walker Romanica, personally drove across the island and delivered the two bottles of Governors reserve, just in time for us to get it and then board the last of the tenders, to get on the ship! This kind of customer service is never heard of, and we were soooo grateful for the thought given to us ,that he would bring it personally!! Thank you soooo much !!!

“If you're looking for something truly local, visit CSC -- we loved it!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

It was an adventure for us -- walked 2K to the distillery...tough to find, but well worth it. No reservation but an incredibly personal tour. Fantastic rum; hospitable staff; educational. We loved meeting the owner & supporting a local small business

“Worth every minute!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

I have to start off by saying I'm not much of a rum fan - I went because my husband enjoys rum. We didn't make a reservation for the tour. When we arrived, a previous tour group was finishing up their tour with rum tasting, and we were invited to have a few samples before our tour.

Vincent gave us a personal tour, and it was immediately clear his depth of knowledge for distilling rum...and vodka (NOW we're talking!) Yes, they also distill vodka!! I learned so much about their distillery, but how rum is made in other places, and how Seven Fathoms Rum is truly different from their competitors. We sampled the rum during it's process (I guess before it becomes rum) and it was amazing how different it tastes throughout the process. Tour was about 30 minutes.

Vincent and Jordan joined us in the tasting area and Jordan was excellent at making recommendations and telling the story of the company and how much its grown. I've been to tastings where they simply poor the glass and walk away. Not here. They experience it with you.

A little tricky to find, but trust their directions. Stay on Bronze Road to the end and look for the red metal roof. Tour is $15 and worth every penny. We bought a bottle of their premium rum (Seven Fathoms Rum) and the distillers signed the bottle for us. We'll keep that bottle long after the rum is all gone.

“Fun visit”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

Small distillery, very personal tour and rum tasting. A little difficult to get to, many of the taxi cabs don't know how to get there as they have moved to a new location.

Jordan was a great guide, very friendly. This is a low key place, very relaxed. A fun afternoon.

“Great folks making great spirits-don't miss!”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

Though a little off the beaten path (though not much, it's in Georgetown), a visit to the Cayman Spirits Co. Distillery (makers of Seven Fathoms Rum and others) should not be missed. A call or email ahead secures a guided tour of the facility, recently enlarged significantly to keep up with demand. It is clear from the first moments that these guys love to make rum and vodka and love the rum and vodka they make. The spirit of adventure is alive and well at CSC. They had just completed infusing one of their rums with local scotch bonnet hot peppers and were happy to pour some. Same for another rum infused with fine teas. Amazing! The "basic" Seven Fathoms rum is smooth smooth as is their white rum and both are fine on the rocks or will stoke up any mixer. They rely on a unique agitation process and dump 750 pound barrels into the ocean forty feet down for an extended period of aging. If you like great rum, and now vodka as well, or if you are just curious how true craftsman do it, this stop is a must for any trip to Grand Cayman. I'm told it's coming soon to the states for distribution! Thanks much to Jordan for an awesome tour and tasting! We will see you again soon!
