First, the location of the property is fabulous. Right on the beach with easy access to walk the 7 mile beach or roads to Georgetown. Easy walk to the Wharf Restaurant - well worth it. The food created by Chef Warren and his team is outstanding. Brunch in the morning kept us going all day. His omelets are made to order and he is very accommodating with all requests. Beach bar staff is friendly and the food is great - grouper fish and chips (or sub salad as I had) and tuna on salad is wonderful. Special Buccaneers dinner buffet was nothing short of amazing - the lobster crepes and grouper were delicious. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate and was always friendly. Room for improvement - breakfast dining room is inside. Would prefer ocean view.

Room Tip: Balcony with sunset view.

Situated at one of the most beautiful beaches on 7 mile beach, the Marriott Beach Resort offers you everything you want for a Caribbean holiday. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good and the service is what you expect in a Marriott Hotel.

I was visiting the Caymans for business, computers and printers are available in the lobby and even the very friendly front desk employees would assist with digitalizing some of my documents. Very nice!

Room Tip: I (but this is personal) like a room on the first floor looking at the garden.

Recenlty in grand Cayman. We stayed in villas the first portion of the trip. But needed one additional night so we picked the Mariott. Beautiful hotel with reliable Mariott quality. Great location on the beach- would definitely return.

Room Tip: Beach view are best, but we had one overlooking the courtyard and it was very inviting.

We loved this hotel - the staff, services, location, food etc. As others have suggested - Yes, the pool is small and the beach is small, extending approx only 20 ft of sand from the property - but still plenty of fun and room for everybody - its a Seven mile long beach after all. A big thank you to one of the most helpful and friendly staff - Gergana (front desk), Ashley (kids club), Abhijeet (F&B), Clyde & Ravi (Solana) and Dannis & Leonard at the poolside/beachside. I was pleasantly surprised by the customer centric focus and "Guest first" philosophy of the hospitality staff. Food at the restaurants on site is good and comparable in price to other places off-site...though I perceived Westin to be slightly cheaper (atleast the drinks were). Rooms were great and housekeeping (with a turn-down service in the evening with fresh set of towels) was impeccable. Nothing wrong with the Marriott - but if you are looking for a "resort-like" experience on a large property than I would recommend the Ritz. If you are going to spend most of the time outdoors on the beach or exploring (and not as much in the room or the property) - than I highly recommend Marriott.

I also recommend taking Capt. Marvin's tour to the StingRay City and the Redsail tour and dinner at Rumpoint.

Grand Cayman and Seven Mile Beach are a great recipie for a fantastic vacation. Here's the lowdown for SMB and Marriot.
Great location, walking distance to many restaraunts, bars, and retail. You can walk for dinner and choose between top notch $50 a plate dinners or pickup an Italian sub for a few bucks. Marriot has it's own artificial reef, which can get a little crowded but there is still a variety of fish. Beach is top notch, comparable but slightly below Grace in TnC. Standard room was just average, grounds were excellent, although pool is nothing to write home about (who needs a pool when you have that beach) Overall Marriot is a great choice for location, price, and the artificial reef.
TIPS: Rent a car and hit some other beaches, Check the cruise schedules to plan your days, spend 1 day at Rum Point, Snorkel the shore dive spots, EATS cafe for breakfast. Definately book the snorkel excursion through "Tours Cayman" (Stingrays and Coral gardens are a must do). If snorkeling at Marriot you can check out reef to the far right, away from artifical reef, if you like more independant exploration.

The Marriott's rooms are what you would expect from a typical Marriott. The hotel has a very nice courtyard (with turtles) that leads to the pool and the beach. The pool area was nice and we didn't have any issues finding chairs. 7 Mile beach is fantasic and the Marriott's location did not disappoint. The beach is crowded with chairs at the Marriott, but we never felt crowded. The service at both the pool and beach was very good, as we were never empty handed (caybrews). Try the fish tacos for lunch. Across and just down the street from the Marriott is a liquor store and Coconut Joe's which you can get a basic breakfast or have some drinks at night. Would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here in mid- January 2012 and had a wonderful time. Our room was always clean and the area is very safe. We both like to snorkel, and we were pleasantly surpised how good the snorkeling was right off the Marriot beach property. Of course we went to other nice snorkeling locations, but this was a bonus for us. The food at the Marriot was very good and the staff was very pleasant and always willing to help. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ocean view is good, and I would recommend hgiher than the second floor. Our room was slightly obstr...

Dear mcgladiator:

Thanks for writing the review about the hotel. Indeed our hotel is the ONLY one in all Seven Mile Beach that features a great snorkeling spot right in front of the hotel.
I am not sure if you noticed but the reef is actually man-made, and it is part of a project called “The Reef Ball project”. Reef Balls are simply the safest and most effective way to create sustainable marine reef habitat and they are called “designed artificial balls”. The word "designed" means that an artificial reef has been both engineered to last against sea forces (chemical and physical) and shaped with biological uses in mind. All Reef Balls, for example, are made with concrete engineered to last over 500 years and tested in wave tanks to ensure they cannot overturn in waves.
Reef Balls are being used in over 50 countries around the world and we are happy you took advantage of the wonderful marine life that called the reef balls home.
We hope to see you in the future,
