The entire experience from the moment we arrived to our departure was very professional, eloquent, and personal. The entire staff from waiters/waitresses, front door and desk, concierge, cleaning, and taxi drivers were very attentive and accommodating to our every needs calling us by name, and the service was impeccable. The beach and restaurant staff were very attentive to our needs before we asked.

The resort is absolutely one of the top Marriotts in the world-wide chain, and we can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Just returned from cayman, awesome stay at Marriott. Received what I had booked. Everything was very clean and nice. Staff was excellent and very helpful from recommending restaurants to making the calls for me for reservations. If you want a place to stay with activity outside, pool, waverunners, parasail, etc this is it. Beach was nice, I know it is little but that means everything is closer to water including your room. I will stay here again without any hesitation.

Room Tip: get the oceanview room, AWESOME!

This hotel has great staff, lots of activities. The pool and beach area is great. While there they even serve all the hotel guest with coconut water, right from the coconut in front of us, nice touch. Rooms are well decoreated and the location in 7 Miles Beach is fantastic.

Room Tip: 5th floor a must with a ocean view, The sunsets are out of this world.

My wife and I just stayed at the Marriott on GC. Nice hotel, but not the best Marriott property that I have visited. Even though I am platinum level, had to use points to upgrade to courtyard view. Seems that platinum would have gotten this level for free. Room AC worked well, but did not remove humidity at all. Everything seems wet most of the time, very high humidity inside and outside. Beach is small, but everyone seemed to fit okay. Drinks on beach are very, very expensive. Drink price, plus added gratuity for your convience, plue 20% exchange rate = 14 USD for drinks. Not good. We packed a softsided cooler and visited grocery store to pick up some cokes, breakfast and lunch stuff. Tried to save some money and did. Blew it out on dinner.

Looking at some of the other reviews, I don't agree with them on the need to update. It was fine. Worn in some places, but its the Caribbean, what do you expect? However, for my money I would choose the Marriott Frenchman's reef on St. Thomas and upgrade to Morningstar resort. Nicer and more affordable island.

For what its worth, it rained every day. Typical of summer season. Stingray City was awesome. Gotta do that.

Room Tip: Visit grocery store to save alot of cash in GC.

We have been to this Marriott property twice, once just the adults and once with our kids. Both trips were excellent. The comments about the property needing updating are off base. the property is well kept and there are new improvements each time we visited. The staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered at a resort. It is easy to catch a bus into town or out to the West End anytime you want. There are numerous stores for shopping both downtown and out at the Camana Bay mall. The restaurants within walking distance are very good and there are many choices. Coconut Joes is great bar food. There are also great nice places to eat as well. The Marriott beach staff are very helpful and attentive. Our room was always made up immaculately and fully stocked with all sundries. We tipped our maid daily and on the last day before we left , she left my wife a stuffed sea turtle as a keepsake of our trip. The snorkeling immediately off the beach is great with many types of fish. Guests would bring out bread and other things to feed the fish and would be surrounded by the fish looking for the handouts. We saw lobsters, crabs, sea turtles, and a wide variety of fish all within 300 yards of the beach. The resort restaurants are very good, especially the breakfast buffet. The theme nights were okay foodwise, we would not go to those next time. All in all a wonderful trip in a beautiful setting.

Dear Bob G,

Thank you for sharing your review. It was a pleasure welcoming you back for another amazing family vacation. We appreciate your kind comments about the hotel and happy that you enjoyed snorkeling right off the property. Recently, we have been hearing comments that guests are spotting Lobsters and Turtles by the artificial reef balls. We have never had these species before, but happy to hear as they make snorkeling more exciting. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable stay.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is in a perfect location - easy access to restaurants etc. Food at hotel is very good but pricey - although food everywhere is pricey. Pool at hotel was a little disappointing - not very big for a resort pool but...hotel is not that big so finding space etc. wasn't an issue. On our visit beach area was very narrow due to recent storms but hotel staff did a great job accommodating guests and we always found chairs.

TIP: Take the bus versus a cab when you can (to/from downtown, area restaurants etc) it's $2 Cayman per person and they will stop anywhere and pick you up anywhere...they are vans that drive up and down the main road and just honk at you - if you want a ride - wave!

The Marriott Grand Cayman is a large all-service hotel, and has everything one would expect for the price. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and everything is perfectly clean and in working order.

The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Unusually for a beach hotel, the floors are all carpeted rather than tiled, which is great for cutting down on noise, and also appears cleaner than tiles when sand and water are dropped. Rooms are cleaned during the day then turned down in the evening, with towels replenished whenever necessary. There is no minibar, but there is an empty fridge, and mineral water at a cost of CI$4.50 per litre. I bought water from the nearby petrol / gas station at less than CI$1 per litre.

Internet access is very expensive at CI$46 for 4 days, and around CI$13 for 24 hours, but is good speed and available all over the hotel – my device even had a connection on the beach.

I opted for an oceanfront room with balcony, and was delighted with the sunset view, but the central courtyard is very pleasant and would be a good way to save money.

The pool area is just a couple of steps from stunning Seven Mile Beach. The sea was incredibly calm and clear, and children could play safely. Snorkelling from the beach is good, with plenty of fish to see. The service on the beach was the best I have experienced – two friendly members of staff moving beds and erecting umbrellas on request, and food and drink service from the bar. There are no hawkers, beach sellers, beggars or indeed anyone not associated with the hotel, and I could not have felt safer. The beach was only around 5 metres from hotel to water, allowing only 2 rows of beds, but there was sufficient space and it was perfectly clean. Beach towels are provided nearby. The food at the Sol beach bar (burgers, hot tuna wraps etc.) was very good.

The restaurant buffet breakfast (CI$ 23) was plentiful – cereals, breads, pastries, omelette and eggs station, sausage, bacon etc., and the service was very good, as everywhere in the hotel. A la carte is also available, and there is a self-service selection of cereals, pastries etc. in the lobby bar (expensive at CI$ 3.30 for a bowl of cereal – and it is not right to automatically add 15% service when you have to serve yourself then queue to pay).

Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort met my expectations in every area, service was superb throughout, and I would happily return.

Room Tip: My oceanfront room with balcony and sunset view was wonderful, but the central courtyard is very ple...
