We just returned from a family vacation, staying at the Marriott for a week. The hotel was wonderful. From the moment we walked in the door (late after a cancelled flight and an unexpected stay over in Miami) the place felt like home. All of the staff members were great. We were checked in without delay and headed straight for the beach. We found a spot easily and as soon as we sat our stuff down, someone was there to put up an umbrella for us.

The beach is wonderful and you can always find room. The recreation staff and staff for Red Sail (recreation/activities) were all helpful and very personable. After the first day, everyone seems to know your name. The location on 7 Mile Beach is great and it is a walkable distance to other resorts, George Town, and Camana Bay shops and restaurants.

The hotel itself may be a bit older, but it is going through renovations as I write this and there is no reason to think the updated version of where we stayed will be anything less than fine. Even though our room was older, it was always clean and the staff kept it up nicely while we were there.

The restaurants on the property were nice and the food was good. The staff, once again, is what makes the place stand out. The bar service is the same, very good and the staff made it better. If you go, look for Rod behind the bar at the beach and look for Anna and Eloisa at the desk in the restaurant. Once inside, Michael was a great waiter. Each of these people know how to make you feel welcome and at home.

I would highly recommend this property for a stay in Grand Cayman. The location is wonderful and the staff push the place over the top. I read all the reviews before making my reservation and I was very pleased, if you go, I bet you will be pleased as well.

Room Tip: We had a courtyard view and it was great. I would stay on the second floor or higher. I did not see the ocean view rooms, but the views from those rooms would be spectacular.

Just returned 4 days stay at Marriott grand cayman with husband . We had excellent service from the moment we arrived until departure. The beach was beautiful and pool little bit small but it's ok. Very relaxing area. Happy hour at beach bar was excellent from 5-7 pm. Service at the beach was excellent and bar at sol bar specially thank to: Dill ( bartender ) and Dannis ( beach server ) make us just stay on the beach nothing to worry about the food and drink because he always check on us all the time.
For sure we will come back next year to Marriott Grand Cayman.

Love the location of this Marriott on SMB, easy to get to get to both ends of the island and the convenience of going into Georgetown to shop. Property is a little dated, but they are starting to update. Beach is beautiful with ample chairs and workers always ready to put an umbrella up for you.

Room Tip: Stay on the first floor as it is very convenient to beach and coming and going. If you stay on the higher floors you have to deal with the elevators and long hot hallways.

Hotel is just ok. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but carpets and baths are in need of an upgrade, which I'm sure is constant at a beach resort. More of a 3 star Marriott than a 5 star for sure compared to other Marriotts. Pool and beach area are great and staff is wonderful. A safe choice all-in-all for a vacation.

We spent a week at the East end of the island an came to stay last day on seven miles beach. I drove without a map just using general directions and signs and was surprised when asked directions to the property and the guys just pointed to it - eventually getting there is not an issue.
Also we've arrived early my request the room was almost ready (it took another 15-20 min to get the key, but I got the cell phone to communicate with the reception and had a chance to learn about common areas). Reception staff was very professional and ran the check in process flawlessly. It felt as they were expecting me there and everything was focused on my experience when I arrived.
The common areas are clean and comfortable. Nice rooms (with all Marriott pillows and bedding) similar to other higher end Marriott properties ... Amazing view on the ocean front side.
Any request for service was fulfilled timely.
Food at the restaurants is very good - conch fritters were better than anywhere else.
The beach is nicely equipped and lot of fun for kids. Surprisingly we found more families with kids vacationing here that at the time share properties.
