It was our first trip to the Cayman Islands. We were driven by affordability and the online reviews. What a great representation of the Sunshine Suites. Clean setting, friendly staff and very hospitable. Love being able to have a very nice sit- down breakfast! The baked goods were freshly made along with yogurt, coffee, tea, cereal and boiled eggs! Really love our stay there!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a short 4-day getaway from July 13-17. It is a large resort about a 3-5 minute walk from the Seven Mile Beach. The entrance sits about a block away from the resort as does the Westin [nice pool bar at night and lounge area]. The beach is beautiful and really quiet through that entrance. You just need to bring beach chairs from the Sunshine Suites and pick up some towels and you will be good to go.

It is 15 mins from the airport for a $23 cost.

[There is also a mini mart and liquor store in case you want to get some stuff. A supermarket is about a 15 min walk away. Camana Bay is about 25 min walk away. A lot of restaurants in either direction are 15-20 min walk away and you can just take the $2 buses that are a block away from the hotel. It is really easy on so many fronts if you don't want to do the right side of the road driving thing]. Try Myrtle's restaurant which you can take a bus to or Duke's. Both awesome and affordable.

The resort is very well kept and beautiful and staff is great. It is extremely relaxing and serene as are the rooms. I have no complaints. The front desk staff was extremely great as was the cleaning crew.

When you go to the famed Sunshine Grill, the food is awesome but portions are huge so save some $$ by ordering one portion and maybe a small side.

The pool isn't the biggest pool in the world but it works for us. It is a very kid friendly resort as well so expect to see plenty of kids.

What else?

Not much but just have a great time. There's a stove in the room if you want to cook and save some extra cash.

Highly recommend this for rest and relaxation.

We have been to the Caymans before and stayed near Rum Point as prices are better. However, we decided to stay on the 7 mile beach side this time. The resort is not on the beach but across the street from the beach. The resort provides beach towels and chairs for the guests. Everyone was very friendly and service was outstanding.

The Sunshine Grille was reasonably priced for The Caymans and had terrific food. The price difference between this hotel and the others across the street as a big difference. The room was clean and everything was in working condition. There are coin laundry facilities if you need to do laundry. I enjoyed having a microwave and full refrigerator as we ate lunch every day at the room or packed a picnic and ate at the beach. The grab and go breakfast was adequate but would like to have seen more choices.

The grounds were very well maintained. Ice and Ice water available at the pool. Great drinks at Sunshine Grille too!

Overall, great service and outstanding location for the price. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We had a 2 queen room. I believe the one bed king suites have windows on the front and back of the room. The end units have windows on 3 sides, I believe. We were on the 3rd floor and no elevators so if you have a problem with stairs you may want to request a ground floor room.

We spent 3 days on the west side of Grand Cayman Island and 3 days on the East End. We stayed at the Sunshines Suites for the first 3 days and considered changing our plans to stay the whole 6 days; that is how much we liked it. The price was outstanding. We had a lovely room and everyone who worked there was great. The location is perfect for snorkelers....right in-between Cemetery beach and downtown Georgetown where we went to Eden Rock and some other fabulous snorkeling spots. The property is kept beautifully. We will absolutely go back.

Room Tip: We had a view of the pool which was always colorful and fun.

We made our first trip to Grand Cayman and found Sunshine Suites online. It cost less than most places along Seven Mile Beach and we weren't sure what to expect. It was exactly what we hoped for. The rooms are clean, the grounds well maintained and the staff friendly. Although it isn't on the beach, the walk is less than five minutes. Sunshine Suites has chairs and towels. The continental breakfast was good, with muffins, cereal, fruit and boiled eggs. The Sunshine Grill is very good and is priced well compared to other restaurants. My wife and I stayed five nights and we definitely would stay there again.
