Casa Caribe
Reviewed 29 June 2014

This was our first trip to Grand Cayman and we loved it. The island is beautiful and Casa Caribe is a great place to stay while you're there. We stayed in Unit #10 -- a 3,000 sq. foot, 3 bedroom/3 bath condo with porches off the side and back of the unit. The beach is beautiful and right at your doorstep. The condo was particularly nice – well-appointed and fully stocked with dishes, appliances, silverware, etc. and the beds are extremely comfortable. This didn’t feel like a rental unit – it was like staying in someone’s very nice home. Neal was excellent to work with -- he had great recommendations for things to do and arranged all of our excursions. All the staff at Casa Caribe was friendly and efficient. The daily cleaning service is a treat -- the entire unit is cleaned, beds are made, trash is emptied. We did not rent a car and never felt that we needed one. You can walk to the grocery store, liquor store, restaurants and hotels. We went on this trip for my son's high school graduation and the whole family had a great time. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Unit 10 is great. More than enough room for a family of 4. Eight people would fit comfortably.

Been to Grand Cayman maybe 20 times and stayed at all the resorts and several condos. This place exceeded my expectations in every way. I must say I have long left the properties that provide service for every step of your stay. I do not look for luggage help, room service, towel service, paid internet, paid parking and all that nickel and dime stuff that I actually once valued. The real deal is when you get to your room and here you get a two bedroom condo and in unit 5 you are ground floor and less than 3 yards from sand and 20 yards from the ocean. Sunsets, my goodness the sunsets and you can watch them from your screened in back porch facing the ocean and the sunset or you can go out on the beach. I did both. Want to eat out, walk to anything you want. Want to eat in, walk to Foster's IGA. They let you put all your stuff in a shopping cart and leave it on the road, although we took our cart back to the store (OCD family). The Casa Caribe has two outdoor grills and I grilled two nights. We also enjoyed several dinners out and paid over $300 US for four people. This included a Chines restaurant, Decker's all you can eat lobster tail on Tuesday night and Surfside Inn. Not to say this is bad, just be prepared. There are no resources in Cayman so everything is shipped in and shipping is expensive so be prepared to pay for all that shipping and enjoy it. In full disclosure this is not the newest property on Seven Mile Beach (I don't care) and it is what you make of it (right up my alley) and it is probably the best price you will ever get for a quality property on Seven Mile Beach. Beach, oh yeah, there is a fantastic beach there and you can open your door if on ground level and fall on it. The water is gorgeous. I cannot think of a single thing that I did not like about this property. But, let me warn you, if you are a hotel snob that values red coat butlers, room service and someone wanting a tip everywhere you turn, DO NOT STAY here because this is a wonderful laid back place on Seven Mile Beach, as it should be. We will be back.

Room Tip: Stay in unit 5 if you like ground floor on the beach, although I imagine all units on the ground ope...

We arrived on a Sunday and since most of the stores are closed on Sunday, Neal graciously offered the opportunity for me to send him a shopping list. When we arrived, our condo was fully stocked with food and beverages that held us over until the stores opened on Monday. Great condo, great view and wonderful beach. I tried to burn the images in my mind forever. The staff was great! Internet worked great for keeping in touch with those back home. Can't wait to go back next year. Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: the ground floor rooms open right onto to the beach, but don't take my space ;)

This was our second time staying here and with each visit it gets harder to leave. We have stayed in numbers 5 and 9. It is a great location - close to everything, including a short walk to the supermarket. Neal and everyone there are always great to interact with and helpful with any questions and recommendations. This island is a comfortable, safe, and friendly place and there are plenty of fun ways to spend your days. If you like to explore, scooters and cars can be rented reasonably and driving on the left is easier than you might think! The beach in front of Casa Caribe is amazing, and the sunset view from there is not to be missed. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The pool and spa are great, too, and the big gas grills are nice if you like to cook out. Cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: Number 9 is on the second floor and has a huge screened-in balcony with a great view of the beach...

Stayed in Unit #4, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, stayed for 5 nights, and wish we would have stayed longer! Very nice unit with cleaning everyday, great, great beach, Neil in the front office was great and full of information, and everyone that worked there was so nice! Grocery and liquor store a little walk away across the street. A couple restaurants in walking distance, but more you could get to if you had a car. Rented a van for the day, (there were 6 of us), and went around the island, so beautiful! Water sports in walking distance if you choose, but our beach was the best! Never busy and great to walk up and down 7 mile. The screened in porch was wonderful every morning for breakfast. Downtown did'nt have a lot going on unless a cruise ship was in. We will be going back! I recommend highly!

Best location on Seven Mile Beach! Wonderful staff! Has been a pleasure dealing with Neal. Near fabulous restaurants and walkable into Georgetown if you don't mind the trek. And you can bring the grocery cart back to the condo from the store!

We spent a week at Casa Caribe. The Private, uncrowded, white sandy beach made for very relaxing days on the beach from which to watch the cruise ships and the parasailing. Snorkeling reefs are approximately 1/4 mile away. Our condo was spacious with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a dining area with more than enough room for 6 people, and a screened-in porch. The Staff was friendly and helpful. Casa Caribe is truly a Slice of heaven!
