This is one of the best locations on 7 mile beach for a wonderful view and very nice beach. My famly has been returning to Cayman for over 8 years and seem to enjoy the RCC time and time again. This year, they have completly updated the pool as well as more tropical plants on property. Our 1 Bedroom condo had been completed with new tile, kitchen cabnets and enclosed glass porch with beautiful ocean front view. This is a very well done "older, but very nice" complex. Enjoyed a short walk to the new Camana Bay shopping area and local restruants. Really liked the sunset and calm waves. I will be returning for 2 weeks next year.

My husband and I along with our two teenage sons stayed at the Cayman Reef Resort in March 2008.

It was on a nice part of Seven Mile Beach and was centrally located .
Could walk across the street to a small shopping area with a couple restaurants, shops, and post office. The grocery store is not within driving distance - we had a rental car. The condo is a short walk - maybe 2 minutes to the Reef Grill / Royal Palms Beach Bar.

The condo was nice with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. The pool was never crowded and was a nice size. Beach chairs are provided for the beach.

We would definitely recommend this condo complex and would stay there again.

Just returned home from a week at the Cayman Reef Resort. Had a 3 bedroom condo near the pool. Complex is basic (no outdoor grill, no exercise room) but very clean, very well maintained, very quiet. They have done an excellent job everywhere on the island cleaning up from Hurricane Ivan. Everything is freshly painted, clean, new roofs, very well done. Condo was well equipped with everything you would need (including w/d). The walk to the beach from any of the condos is very short and the beach in front of the Cayman Reef Resort is awesome. We walked the beach in both directions and we felt the beach in front of Cayman Reef Resort was by far the best-no rocks, no coral, alot of room for chairs (Although on any given day there would only be a handful of people from CRR on the beach). The beach area 2 properties down from CRR was used by cruise ship people during the week but were far enough away tha they didn't bother us at all-couldn't even hear them really at all. The only drawback to the CRR location is the music from The Reef Grill at night which is near the CRR. They have a DJ Wed-Sun night and we could hear the music at night when we went to bed even with the AC on. It was pretty loud and it plays until midnight. Pool was very clean, ample lounge chairs on the beach and very friendly year-round residents at CRR. Great location, too. We really didn't even need a rental car at all. You can walk to over a half dozen restaurants, shopping, convenience store, World Gym, Baskin Robbins, Butterfly Farm. Will definitely be back and will stay here again. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, laid back vacation.

Just stayed at the Cayman Reef Resort for 9 nights (Dec 5th - 14th 2003) in a one-bedroom unit. It was very difficult to leave this place and we would stay there again without a doubt.

Though we did not face the ocean, we walked right out to the nice pool area. This is a great place for piece and quiet, at least in early December. Seems most people staying here are permanent residents. Some days we had the whole pool to ourselves. It wasn't fancy, but was clean and well kept. In our opinion, it represents one of the best values on Seven Mile Beach.

This did not have the best beach spot on SMB in terms of width (though it was fine) - from this resort south and especially at the Marriot there was a lot of erosion from previous hurricanes.

Easy walk to a lot of shopping and restaurants. Dining out is obviously very, very expensive here. For high-end restaurants, we recommend Bed because of its atmosphere and food (w/in walking distance too) and Eduardo's for the best Italian. Rigazzi across from the Hyatt was a decent mid to high range place, with good brick-oven pizza. To save some $$$ (in Cayman terms - meaning around $US50-$US60 dinner for 2) we recommend Lone Star. If you are in Georgetown, the view from balcony at Breezes is nice.

For SCUBA - I strongly recommend Neptune. Highly personalized service (8 diver max) - pick up and drop off at your room. Small outfit but they are great - they don't advertise like some of the others but look them up.

For the Stingray City Tour (which also included 2 other snorkeling stops and is an absolute requirement) we recommend Soto's Cruises (it was only $15 per person!). Great staff - they jump right in the water with you, some other outfits we saw out there were more expensive and weren't as personalized.

It's expensive, but if you can't Scuba or snorkel, the Atlantis submarine is a cool way to see the fish and reef - they go down to about 100 feet in the sub. We did a night dive, which we recommend.

We stayed at the Cayman Reef Resort during June 2003. Nice location just down the street from the Strand shopping center. We booked the 3 bedroom condo. The first 2 bedrooms had queen beds and the third room had bunk beds (unexpected). Overall, the condos are very well equipped and nice. Nothing elaborate but very clean. The cleaning service is daily and good. The beach front is nice. Nort the largest beach but right next to a good bar so that made-up for a lot. We liked it so much we are staying again in Feb 2004.
